It makes it to where your body decays while your still alive. Smells really really bad, but i dont think anything mentioned here can hold a candle to ebola. Somone correct me if im wrong but in history i think only about 5 or so people have lived after catching ebola? Ebola is a ragin monster. You actually bleed when you touch things and cry blood. Its horrible.

    Huntingdons Chorea

You can't catch it its genetic, it kills you, just kills you dead before your even born.
You can't be a living human being with HC only a carrier, and carriers have no symptoms, and a person can only get it if both parents are carriers, if they are they will never be able to have children because as soon as the feoutus gets to the stage of gaining its sex it will die...

the worst disease is called "No-Common-Senseitis" it kills millions worldwide, for example some symtoms are
    1.playing on railroad tracks
2.ignore warning signs (DANGER HIGH VOLTAGE)
3.running out in traffic (almost got me on that one, but never again)
4.using racial slurs at the million man march (hmm 1 million vs. your skinny white arse?)
    5.chewing on power cords
6.sticking metal objects in the toaster
    7.not wearing protection (hardhats etc.)
    8. weaing loose clothing around power tools (table saw etc)
the list goes on and on...

sadly this disease seems to be spreading at a insane rate, no known cure other than knocking (or scaring) some sense into the affected.

    Heh, that seems to be a sub-disease of Stupidity (<i>see 1st page of this thread</i>). <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Or maybe a side-effect...

    Proteus syndrome

<!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--><span style='font-size:8pt;line-height:100%'> A congenital syndrome characterised by a variety of abnormalities, most commonly by asymmetry of the arms and legs with partial enlargement of the hands and/or feet, hemihypertrophy - overgrowth of one side of the face, body, or limbs - thickening of the skin and subcutaneous tissues, subcutaneous masses, vascular disorders, epidermal naevi, and macrodactyly; accelerated growth during early years, cystiform pulmonary abnormalities, visceral manifestations from abdominal and pelvic lipomatosis, macrocephaly or asymmetry of the skull with bony prominences due to hemihypertrophy, scoliosis and kyphosis, muscle atrophy, and convulsions.

Aetiology unknown. Reported cases have been isolated occurrences in families, suggesting that the condition is not hereditary. It affects both sexes equally, and has no particular racial, geographical or ethnic distribution.

It has been suggested that Proteus Syndrome is the condition that Joseph Merrick (known as the Elephant Man) had, rather than neurofibromatosis, as was initially suggested.

The condition must be distinguished from Mafucci’s syndrome (chondrodystrophy with vascular hamartoma), Klippel-Trénaunay-Weber syndrome (osteohypertrophic-varicose nevus syndrome) and von Recklinghausen disease (neurofibromatosis syndrome). </span><!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

well, it seems that this Black Plague is nothing compared to the deadly effects of Ebola... i'm pretty sure that this one takes first prize...

and also for the worst birth defect: Proteus syndrome

i have an idea... for our next thread lets discuss various Chemical/Biological warfare agents...

My vote is for various forms of human spongiform encephalopathies. Such as nvCJD or CJD. The pathogen is believed to be a missfolded protein that in turn can cause other proteins to misfold in this same manner. The disease affects the brain and after a few months of its onset the brain looks like a sponge under the microscope, grains of these misfolded and very stable proteins form in the brain. Eventually your brain athropies (dies from undernurishment) but you suffer various mental illnesses before this. Basically you start to loose your memory and behave radically differently before you become a vegtable.

Some forms of the disease are genetic others are caused by eating say meat infected with the corresponding missfolded protein from another animal, say a cow with mad cow disease. It does not matter much that the meat is cooked because the protein is very stable, you really have to char the meat black through the entire peice to destroy most of these proteins (often refered to as prions), they are also quite resistent to strong alkali, something which denaturates most normal proteins

(denaturate a protein - destroy the folded structures of a protein and/or spliting the protein in smaller pieces, you do this with eggwhite when you heat it, and gelatine is often produced by denaturating protein from pig cartilage/skin/chrushed bovine bones in strong alkali like sodium hydroxide solutions which splits the collagen(protein found connective tissue) in smaller water solluabel fragments(sorry for telling this to those of you who like jello and other such gelatine rich thingies <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->, but it's nutricious just so you know <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo--> ).

for some more info on the wonderful and dissgusting process of gelatine production go here <a href='http://www.encyclopedia.com/html/g1/gelatin.asp' target='_blank'> encyclopedia.com - gelatine</a>

edit - the original (and more informative but just as impartial) link could not be posted it contained a four letter dirty word beginning with d that also happens to be a persons name, it got censured . <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
