I'm flattered. Sadly that was the best pinging server to me, but it was full of cocky pubbies who think they are oh so leet but in reality suck hard.

Aimbots exist for half-life, ns is a half life mod, it's not even as brand new as you think, course there's aimbots :/

Got to love some of these people. I had marines accusing me of leap hacking when I would leap then quickly switch to bite to do more damage to them. They don't know what the real leap exploit so it was rather amusing when they started accusing all the aliens of the leap exploit. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'>

Yes, getting accused of hacking is like getting a badge of honor. Well, assuming you're not hacking. It means you're a level above the crowd you're battling, and are well out of their league.

It's also, somewhat, a signal to move on to another server, in hopes of finding your own skill level. Since they generally ban you for 'hacking' anyway, this is something of a forced transition, too.

It's happened to me twice, in Counter-Strike. Never in here, yet, but I s'pose that's just because I'm still relatively new.

If you wanna see good "h4x!!!" people play CS on fy_iceworld for a while. I play it a fair bit, and I see so many funny newbies saying "somebodies hacking" or something... they don't even bother to accuse a specific person anymore <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'>

Usually the real cheaters are pretty dumb and don't keep it a secret, so you can usually tell pretty fast if the people being accused are legit.

looking at a players score could be an indication for h4x, if it is 20:1, but are there any sure ways of really knowing? Can you spec, and see sometjing? I think u can not determin if someone is useing an aimbot. On my server people can have a 20:1 score without problem. I keep the just-one-time-server-players under control to not accuse people of h4xing, i even kick people who acuse. Since if the player would be really that good, i wouldn't want to chase him away. And if someone has an aimbot, i don't really care, since it makes you have to adapt, and be better. If someone has an aimbot, it doesn't make him god, or unkillable. Skulk from behind, no aimbot helps there, ambush, hide, silence instead of carapace etc....
I like to talk to good players, ask them questions and encourage them to come to our clan server. I get to know the people, and ask them how they play. If I get expertise anwsers then I know they are really good, and i get to know them closer, hey he might even join the clan....
If I however see players that own everyone else telling how everyone is a n00b, like "omg guys 20:1, u guys sux! Haha gotcha you ****! No one can kill me! I am God" and doing this repeatatly, I will kick/ban you because you are either someone you is cheating and likes to make other players made, and that is not what the game is for, (note: no because you cheat), or you are really good but have a weak character.

I actually got 17 kills as a marine before my 1st death! (I WAS a GOD for that game)
Then the next game I got 20 kills to 1 death as skulk before turrning into fade and finishing game.

Still they were just loosing badly, and we had an excellent comm.

I've been accused of hiding skulk teeth/marine gun.. but never hacking in NS. Hehe.. Can someone verify this;
If mp_consistency is on, aimbot does not work.
I believe thats the case, since I heard that aimbot makes all enemy models <span style='color:yellow'>brightly colored</span>, and then auto-aims for that certain color...

In CS, I got quite called a cheater quite a few times. People loved to whine about multiple headshots.

Only once in NS. And while I've been playing it only for a few months (compared to a few years for CS), I was really suprised when it happened (at what prompted it, and at all the people saying I was hax0ring).

Nancy. Aliens rush at the start. We gank 5 of them without losing a marine, and rush them back to Subspace, taking out a few skulks along the way. By the time we get there, there are like 4 aliens out of 9 alive, the rest are respawning.

Anyway, I turn the corner to Sub, and right around it to the right are 3 skulks and a gorge, who is heal spraying them. No carapace. I drop to a crouch as three marines come up behind me, and we all unload damn near point blank.

I got all 4 kills. Heh. They went crazy over that.

I played an ueber-lite marine, once. He was the best shot i had ever seen. He could kill 4 uncarapaced skulks with the lmg, whip out the pistol faster than I ever could (gotta turn on auto-switching) and cap at least 2 more, reload, and repeat. He won the game for the marines 4 times (once or twice as comm). Damn fine player, but from the aliens' side it feels unfair to be that badly outclassed, especially when he sends 4 skulks into the respawn queue, while he's off by himself.

Yeah, there are some idiots out there... one guy accused me of having a wallhack when I (as a fade), hunted him down (as the last remaining marine hiding in a corner after their IPs were down) and killed him when he was PARASITED!!! what a moron. everyone was laughing at him, and he insisted he wasn't 'sited. then all the aliens ask, "then what was the little yellow circle i saw?!"

It's really unnerving as a skulk to hide above a doorway, then be blasted down by a marine before I can twitch because he saw me hide there using MT. It's legitimate and I sure as hell can't accuse the marine of knowing where I was thanks to MT, but sometimes I wonder why some people feel the need to cry wolf.

Aliens are gradually getting better now it seems to me; and I have seen much more alien teamwork in recent weeks.

In the past aliens were quite bad at stealth as well, I guess those long solo journeys get pretty boring -

And in CS.. ya know what.. the general level of play has not improved in 3+ years. Most people are still mediocre .. "OMG I BEEN PLAYING FOR 2 YEARS"

Returning to CS after 2+ years last spring, I pwned a whole team 2x because of their blind incaution, slow reactions, negligent reloading.. and died at the last second (literally) because I stopped to taunt or chose to defuse rather than hunt last guy.. ah good times <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'>

I love staying untouched unscathed from a horde of skulks. There must be no hack that approximates it cuz people only exclaimed OMG but yeah I've been accused of pistol script, but not seriously cuz admin always had brains. I just love when somebodyaccuses me of hax0r, i just must be that good...
but it doesn´t happen that often thou cos i always play in the same servers and everybody knows me there, but sometimes a N00b or a Newbie comes along and the only thin they can think why they are losing is cos im cheating or somebody else in those servers, is it really so hard that there are better players than u <img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'> Get ovet it u are not the best, im not the best and i dont think there even is a ultimately best player in NS... Yes you learn the Good Spots after a while, and when you're marine, you check them almost automatically. And catches a skulk sitting there like a pigeon. Blammo. i almost got banned from the UKTFCL for cheating in TFC by the head admin cause i kicked his but as sniper, been called a cheat in ns lods cause im a good 56ker.

Mildly related, I find it just about as funny when people vote to kick you off the server becuase your kicking butt.

For example, TOD (Tour Of Duty) Upon release. I was playing it and was learning fast and could kick the living crap out of anyone there (Perhaps it was good old DOD experience?). Anyway, moments later, a vote to kick me off started. Only one guy voted yes <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'>. On that same server, I'd also been mistook for an admin <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'>

Related to NS, I once encountered this player, that, no matter how you killed him, he accused you of hacking. Acid rocket him, "H4X!!11", Bite him, "OMG H4X!!!11", Gore him as an onos, "sToP H4cking n00b!" etc etc, Let me tell you, not only were both teams positively crying with laughter, we enjoyed parasite killing him when he was camping in the corner of maintenance hive being the last marine alive, oh how the "H4x!" accusations were spammed <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'>

Put simply, being accused of Hacking, when an individual is clearly not hacking, is a badge of honour that should be worn with pride <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'>

I can understand if a server's population votes to kick a particularly super leet player. If 1 players skill > all other player skill it does put a kilter on the balance. I'd not be offended if I ever were to reach such heights of skill that I got kicked off a server by majority vote. But I'd be sad if someone BANNED me for it.
