<div class="IPBDescription">When will?</div>I hear that all the modeling, and most of the real stuff is laid out, but...
What else needs to be done, exactly?
I reeeeely don't want this mod to go down like Firearms.
They get one update a _year_. Seriously, the team does _nothing_
Obviously, thats NOt the case, here, i mean, god, look at all those awesome models done already.
Basicly though, how much playtesting si left? a year? 6 months?

no, playtesting will continue "until its done"
That said, I am actively shifting things such that we're no longer trying to get everything perfect for the first release, but rather to get a really fun polished first beta, then continue refining it with everyone playing (as opposed to refining it with only the playtesters playing).
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! :crys with happyness:
I can wait 2 months for a mod of this magnitude. Thank you soooooo much!
/me takes note of that and gives a sigh of relief
I like the sounds of that. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
but it's better to wait than to have a mod that is not finished at all.
dang, i better not get to happy or else my heart will start hearting <!--emo&;)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'><!--endemo-->
Ok (16-2)/2+2=9 so 9 weeks is the median and thus is the estimated released date. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
And don't worry FA will rise from the ashes and pwn you all! <!--emo&;)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'><!--endemo-->
Anyways, I was actually kinda excited about the "16" weeks part... More time to finish my level... <!--emo&:p--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'><!--endemo-->
Anyway, let's not take this out of hand... no bombing Flayra if it isn't out at the end of 16 weeks... We got an estimate finally, but we probably don't want to make it hard on these guys by rubbing it in too far.
Though let me assure you that I'll personally deliver a bomb to his house if he pushes this thing out in less than two weeks. <!--emo&;)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'><!--endemo-->

So i take it that you will be relying on a majority of the players to help out on solving bugs and such? I have a feeling that you were so that above question may sound somewhat idiotic. <!--emo&???--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'><!--endemo-->

Nor do I think that he's going to be using the community for bug testing. This is already covered. I think all that was meant was that NS1 is not going to be utterly perfect in all departments. Maps might not be totally 100% finished or perfect... Models might need tweaking... gameplay coding might need tweaking... network code might not be totally optomised... etc, etc.
Again, not so much a beta bug hunt deal, just a non-*perfect release. Making the game extremely fun, and getting it out to the public is more important to them than making sure everything is perfectly in order. Keep in mind this doesn't mean that you won't be impressed with what you see... <!--emo&;)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'><!--endemo-->
(This is what I gather at least.. could be wrong..)
Thanks. =]

The problem is, the playtest their doing right now is small scale. So all the beta testers are likely on one server and the games are held at scheduled intervals. This is a good method, but suppose you tripled the beta test team and had "independant" beta tests(Meaning Flayra doesn't have to host the game, testers host their own games and join each others servers).
I'm really glad the team has decided to do that. It always ticks me off when modmakers decide to release a mod that they know is full of bugs, then whine about immaturity when people complain even a little. I remember CS Beta 1... that was a debacle...
I'll wait as long as it takes for you guys to put out a stable fun version of NS.
btw, would someone do me a favor and send me a message on my messager for these forums about what the difference between an atheist and an agnostic is? And kID-Icarus, I don't know what you said in response to what I said, but I hope I didn't offend you in any way. If you'd like to discuss it, feel free to send me a message.

SpyderMonkey: I'd prefer you handle this with a PM, I don't want to tread down this road.
<!--EDIT|Spyder Monkey|May 15 2002,19:31-->
OK, it was ful of bugs, the gameplay wasn't what the makers wanted to make, and it was quite buggy, and buggy...
Hm.. thinking over that.
