It's cause "Gorg" is all most people can see in the score menu, when it lists what evolution everyone is. That's also why a lot of people say "Skul" instead of Skulk.

its spelled the same way as: gorge meening a canyon, or as in to stuff your self on food so, it is probably pronounced the same way (seeing how as I don't know the phoenetic marks at all, thats my way of saying it)

Any someone earlier noted, it should be pronounced the same as the verb <i>gorge</i> meaning 'to stuff yourself with food', since that's what the gorge does so that it can then vomit up all those RTs and OCs and hives. It's part of the story.
