It's cause "Gorg" is all most people can see in the score menu, when it lists what evolution everyone is. That's also why a lot of people say "Skul" instead of Skulk.

Any someone earlier noted, it should be pronounced the same as the verb <i>gorge</i> meaning 'to stuff yourself with food', since that's what the gorge does so that it can then vomit up all those RTs and OCs and hives. It's part of the story.

Screen Res has nothing to do with it, it shows as Skul and Gorg for everyone. I believe its 4 letter limit on the scoreboard. I suppose thats why Onos, Fade, and Lerk are 4 letter names <img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'> On marines side, you only see COMM.

Actually, in the word "Porsche", the "e" is pronounced. It is a German family name, and in German, there is no silent "e".

Porsche is pronounced "porsheh" - that's how I say it, but I also studied German...so I can have a little respect.

But yes for most Americans it's just "Porsh"

It <i>is</i> an English word. Its annunciation and usage follow the same rules as the word "binge" (pr. binj), as if to eat or consume mass amounts. Also just like in The Simpson's and their "Springfield Gorge" <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'>

FYI - Skulk is english as well. To "skulk" means to "sneak" - hence the name and manner of the beast.
