Thermal plant highest safe temperature for construction

Has anyone tested the safest temperature you can build the thermal plant? I left an unfinished TP on the inner wall of a lava geiser in the Jellyshroom cave, but when I cam to finish construction, it was gone. Now I managed to build one where it is not exposed to eruptions but the thermometer shows 75°C, I obvioulsy take damage in that location and so does the Seamoth, glowing red hot.
Will it be safe there?

I have not, but I did build one on top of one of the fumeroles in the tree cave and it was fine. I park the cyclops over them, too once I have the thermal charger on it.

IIRC it's not the temperature, it's the rock chunks that cause damage?

I've built them in the Jellyshroom Caves. It's the only place I've ever found that has 80C temperatures. None of them ever had any problems. It may be the fragments of lava, or perhaps it was because it was unfinished? I've never tried leaving one unfinished for a significant length of time. We've had updates too, and perhaps unfinished it didn't count as a base piece and got disappeared.

If it's cause it's not finished, I think it'd count as a bug. @Belgarel do you know the in-game rules that govern this?

@EstebanLB01 I once had an unfinished base piece turn invisible after save/reload, but couldn't go through the area it would have taken up. Have you tried swimming through the spot where the thermal plant had been?

Seems fine at 98 degrees, and I couldn't find anywhere hotter.

Hmm, I did. I was able to walk freely on the same space

I haven't experimented with this much - but I am curious how long you can remain in an area that hot before dying. My (limited) experience says not long, so pictures like the above make me wonder...

Reinforced dive suit gives you some time to work. And the temperature drops off pretty quickly. You can sit back in the "not-quite-boiling" water and build things a couple meters in front of you. It's been a bit, but I think building those three cost me about half health? I faffed about with positioning a bit though.

I do not think these things are a problem anymore, since it has been recently fully released
