Mapping

so does anyone have a way to map the planet cause I keep getting lost trying to find the mountain island I've been using the LPs as land marks but it only works for the floating island. I think they should add a map or an item that can do some mapping.

There's a PC mod, but that won't help. There's also these images (spoilers on some of them)

A pull-up map would be amazing. Can’t say how many time I’ve got lost trying to find something only to use up all my food and water. Just got the cyclops so I can store more stuff but beacons only do so much.

I know this is an older thread, but I have to post once then wait a day to post my own thread... so here goes a shot that maybe I won't have to....

For all the technology the game doesn't support a simple ability to map where you've been. I can deal with this if I can only find my current coordinates. Yet for all the searching, I can't seem to locate how to determine my coordinates on the PS4. If I'm 1k meters due North off a known location point of say -1234 am I at -234? This is monumentally frustrating.
