Cool places to build a seabase.

I have been trying to find some cool places to build an early game seabase. I have usually done it in a safe-shallows next to a Kelp-forest. It would be fun to do something else once in a while. Is it just me or does anyone else have a habit of building a base on a border of two biomes ? Maybe it's just because there's more biodiversity on those areas. So, I came-up with an idea of building a seabase in a Kelp-forest overlooking the Grandreef. There is a spot but it just doesn't make much credit to it. It's not good enough. There's no proper view to the Grandreef. With some modifications it could become a pretty cool place. Infact this small spot is the only spot in the game where Kelp-forest and Grandreef biomes will meet and it's about 450-500m from the lifepod.

There are, of course, some other spots for a base within 50m but they aren't any better.

The depth of the base could be increased by 20m from 100m to 120m. The "platform" on the right could be extended forward and it could have some additional Membrae trees and anchor pods. Also some additional Creepvines could be added behind the base location.

[ Here are some Photoshopped screen shots, presenting the idea. Not sure if it would look too unnatural or staged ]

Also, some anchor pods, Membrane trees and Creepvines could be added on the left wall. Likely the shape of the wall would need to be tuned a bit.

Here's the base from some other camera angles. (lightness increased for better visibility due to "night time")

You can build near 3 or 4 biomes if you're careful: Safe Shallows, Kelp Forest, Grassy Plateau, and entrance to JellyShroom caves, all within like 20m (go by the entrance to the 'Shroom caves that's in the face of a cliff between Safe Shallows and Grassy Plateau, with two kelp Forests in sight across the 'gulf' and behind the cliff).

If you can't find it I can fir up a game and post some screenshots (however, yours looks nicer).

Here's an other unique spot for a seabase. This is the only spot in the game where the Koshzone and Mushroom forest biomes will meet outside the radiation zone. This spot is about 1000m NNE from the life pod and about 500m from the "Gun". Right now it doesn't look so great. There are better places in a middle of Koshzone and Mushroom forest.

Here are three screen shots from a different viewing directions taken from the same spot.

Here's a slightly Photoshopped screen shot of how the Mushroom-forest could look like. You can see something like this near the large mushroom tree and many other areas as well.

Yes, I think I may have had a base there. It was in a Safe Shallows and there was a Kelp forest just next to a base and a Mushroom forest was straight down from a moon-pool. Intersection of 3 biomes. Grassy plateaus and the JellyShroom cave was about 50-100m away. Lots of GasPods there.

I was mostly looking a places with a pretty view form a living room windows.

You could always blitz over to the Aurora to patch the radiation and grab anything that's handy, and then make a second trip later with the laser cutter. You'll get Seamoth frags too if you don't have that completed. Plus a ton of batteries and powercells and other goodies that are a lot more helpful in early game than mid game.

My personal fav is the mountain island. The gun's teleporters come in CRAZY handy. You can teleport to the ILZ, ALZ, Crag field, Bulb zone, Mushroom forest, Floating island and the Lost river. All those biomes are bordered by at least one of every biome.

    Here's my base:

I don't see a screen shot there, but it could be pretty cool place to build a base, never done that before. I don't really like the teleporters very much. I have always done a forward operations base near the "Tree" in the Lost River to provide water, food, crafting abilities and power. Like in a screen shot below.
But now that I know that a teleporter exists in a power facility, I don't really see any logical reason to build a base down there anymore. I still usually do it, anyways, just for fun.

Yes, I always go there as soon as possible. No reason to delay it.

The overgrown caves crater has an offshoot cave you can fit a large bas in.

You only need to build next to the outlet of one of the teleporters that reaches the Containment Facility to make use of it. So, that means you can build in the Lost River, Mushroom Forest, or any of the other places that has an outlet that you mentioned. Just gotta find where the teleporter is and build around it.

Here's an idea. If you could make it to the crag field early in-game.(I always do cause of resources ) and build a base going up a big crag. With an observatory at the top.
