Thermometer missing [Stable 52328]

My thermometer disappeared after the last update, also i can't craft a new one. Now it is not really comfortable to place Thermal Power Plants.

P.S. I've noticed there is a thermometer in Seamoth and PRAWN, but i've already get used to it as a part of common UI.

It has disappeared for me as well. This is one of MANY items that has disappeared for me in game. Really Frustrated!

Thermometers and compass have become a hardwired and exclusive component in the Seamoth and PRAWN. Some tools have been removed from the crafting list and must be scanned as fragments before construction (beacon, grav sphere, cutting tool).

Oh, the joys of playing an Early Access game... Stuff will change quite radically from one update to the next--and then sometimes change back again... and then change yet again. :)

I'd noticed this, too, and wondered if that was the case with the vehicle thermometers. Silly thing still shows in my blueprints, though, like it's taunting me...

As far as placing thermal plants, wear a Reinforced Dive Suit if you can. That thing is good up to 70 C.

I haven't tested this. But I thought I saw an item in the code check-ins that said they were adding a temperature display to the thermal plants. I thought that sounded really awesome.

    It's there, and it is!

Unfortunately this has led to being able to actually test these things and it turns out that they only get about 50% of their potential power generation capacity from being in 50C water. Any hotter and you are taking damage from placing them, and you still only get a small improvement (I got 56% instead of 50% placing one inside the thermal vent in the safe shallows, taking nearly 90% damage from doing so).

So you can never really get much more than 50% power from them, an odd way to go about designing a game.

Equip a Reinforced Dive Suit first, which will protect you up to 70C

That would work if I had that blueprint yet. Still, it's only going to get me to where I am getting 70% of the potential the thermal reactors are capable of. Instead I just put 2 or 3 of them around the thermal vent and supplement with 4-12 solar panels and occasionally a bioreactor.
