[50032] Bug? with Alien Thermal Plant being incomplete, missing floor panels. Prawn is stuck...

As the title says, no floor... Can walk around on the bottom of the structures interior, looking down to lava. Now my prawn suit is stuck in there. I tried both doors that I could find and theres missing panels everywhere like the 3D model just isn't finished.

Anyone else have this problem and if so did you fix it?

At one point I tried to warp myself whilst inside the Prawn suit, to get out, but nothing happened, except that I could now swim as though in water, so I went and collected the Ion battery tech. The prawn suit however still behaves as though its on land....

I think I'm screwed. Anyone know how to kill and spawn a prawn?

    you could try spawning a jumpjet upgrade and grapple arm and go through the entrance, that should reset the state, I think.

    Well, here's what I know...

    - The Alien Thermal Plant is seriously bugged in my savegame. Will try a new savegame and warp down to it to double check. Then if still bugged, will do a steam file integrity check.
    - Tried getting myself out with the Prawn fully upgraded, but as the Prawn is "walking" around, there is no water for my jets to work with and I can only jump. Also, the hook doesn't do squat... Prawns too heavy so I'm stuck on the bottom floor panels.

    Solution? Took all upgrades from Prawn, warped out to lavacastlebase, spawned a new Prawn and, thanks to the new ping manager, turned off the old Prawns ping...

    (I actually had to spawn a second prawn suit as the first one I spawned ended up halfway inside a wall so there are now 2 rusting hulks sitting down there!)

    Anyway, was REALLY weird and I hope the Ion crystal node and Ion battery tech were all there was in there as thats all I could find with my version...

    I even thought about using floaters, but as there is no water inside they can't even be "placed/dropped".

    So...

    - Verified game files via steam, found 2 problems, 12mb downloaded...no further details...
    - Went back in but the Precursor thermal plant was still bugged with missing panels. Spewin..

    Best thing to do is clear your cached save game files. Go to Steam\steamapps\common\Subnautica\SNAppData\SaveGames and then whatever Slot000x folder your current game is in. Delete all of the files in CellsCache and CompiledOctreesCache. Once back in the game, save the game and now all of the landscape will be updated.
    - Did that and it worked, the PTP was restored! Solved! (although my 2 previous prawns were still in there as I could still see the head of one at least sticking up through the floor)

    But, walked in and jumped out of the prawn only to find myself again in the walls. Lucky I saved prior...! Geeze...

    Oh, and really nice work on the PTP! Very happy I got to see it "normal"! Love the generator design, stood watching it for 5 minutes...

    And I just wanted to add that the panels were the only thing missing and is only effective from the inside looking out. The little stands that had things on them were still there, just no floor around them at all.

    Corrupted files at the end of the day...

    Same thing happened to me. When I used the portal to the Quarantine Enforcement Platform, the whole facility became incomplete as well. I followed the steps and viola, it was fixed. Some items at my base vanished (posters, toy car, lab equipment), all doors were locked, and the Aurora was full of fire again. One day later, the Quarantine Enforcement Platform won't load the outside textures. Did the same thing, now the Sea Emperor Leviathan's pose is messed up, the baby enzymes are gone, and base furniture is missing again.

    I really hope they fix this save corruption issue soon. I really don't want to have to keep doing this every time I play the game.

    I 'fixed' it by moving a scanner room probe into the area, then disconnecting/reattaching to it. That causes lots of strange things for some reason (nearby prawns will fall through the floor when you do it) and it successfully did whatever magic to that area and fixed it. Less tricky to do than deleting that specific area from the cache.
