Game simply won't start. (app already running)

I get this error every time I try to start Subnautica, I have not found a fix. Please help fix this, this is a great game.

If restarting the computer doesn't help, try ending the application in the task manager.

Restarting should fix that. If not, there's something wrong (unless you set Subnautica to start up with the computer?)

I've tried restarting my PC but after I open and close the game once, the error happens again. It won't let me close Steam because it says it's already running, I even checked Task Manager and it isn't.

Try exempting your Steam directory in any anti-virus software you have running.

I don't use any antivirus. What if it's an error with Steam?

Are you unable to open steam? Steam only shows up in applications when you have the steam window open.

If you haven't installed a third-party antivirus, you probably have Windows Defender. If you don't even have that, I highly recommend getting an antivirus.

Edit: If it is an issue with steam, you can restart steam by telling it to go offline. (and then turn steam back online, if you want)
