baked-batch-cells-14-18-16 is the file that causes the crashes

Apparently, the crashing and performance degradation has been found to be tied to this specific file in the saves. At least this is what someone on steam seems to have found, and you should be able to delete just this file without resetting all your resources. Just posting in case it hasn't made it's way here yet and the devs are unaware.

Where exactly is this file located? Searches of the main Subnautica directory and it's subfolders returns no results.

EDIT: Found it, but deleting this file had no effect on the lag in my game. =\

14-18-15 seems to be the culprit for most people, not 14-18-16. It's 15 that contains the wreck.

Where exactly is the file? I've looked through the CompiledOctreesCache but all the files in there are compiled-batch.optoctrees with some numbers after the "batch"

*Found the baked batch cell files in a different folder, but the lowest one i have for the 14-18 section is 14-18-17
I have really horrible lag throughout the game (regardless of where I am or how long I've played for) and just bought and downloaded it maybe an hour ago

Just clear the entire cache. (Delete both cache folders).

Just deleted both 14-18-15 and 14-18-16 cache files and the crashing I'd get each time when traveling north from my base in the shallows to the mountain island is now fixed. Thanks!!!!

edit: lag is slightly better too.

You can also delete the whole cache (both folders) but that respawns resources which, fun as that it, sort of kills any challenge.
