This demo makes me sad to think where we could have been without Creative patent-trolling Aureal to death. Could you imagine NS2 with sound processing as below, done quickly in hardware, rather than the muddy mess we actually have?
Here's an example of A3D; the way Half-life was meant to be played:
Unintentional comedy is a thing I enjoy tremendously.
This guy is a legend; not because he has contributed to game development in anyway; but because he has pitched hundreds and hundreds of otherworldly, quite possibly hallucinogen-fueled creations to game devs. He does so by sending letters to random game devs with a sketch drawn in like, neon coloured crayons or felt tip, and badly recorded audio cassettes.
The one and only Dennis Greenidge:
Games you usually have to experience to get the so bad it's good feeling (e.g. games with awful, awful controls like drake of the 99 dragons), but a few of them translate well to video:
The ending to Limbo of the lost; A game that went into development before 1995 and resulted in a game for the PC in 2008, that was eventually pulled from steam for plagiarism (stolen art assets):
Bible games are a rich vein of so awful-it's-good.
