[BUG] Insanely low FpS when turning Cyclops - 34300

edited July 2016 in Subnautica Bug Reporting
Reproduce:
1. Enter Cylcops' steering.
2. Press A or D to turn.
3. Notice how suddenly your FpS drop to 3-7.
4. Release button and notice how your FpS instantly jump to normal values.

Edit: Added video.

Update: After testing I discovered two important facts, 1. Bug is not present in a perfectly new Cyclops. 2. Removing assets inside the Cyclops does not fix the problem.

That's not the game bugging, but your graphics card not being fast enough. What are your system's specs?

I see you prefer to make ignorant assumptions instead of adding constructive value to the thread.

The bug only happens in the cyclops, I can turn fine outside a vehicle or in the seamoth without any FpS drops.

I did not have this problem prior to the 34xxx builds, it was introduced with one of the recent builds.
To further elaborate and make it simple so that there is a slight chance you might understand: the bug is absent from the stable build, that is, I do not get FpS drops while turning.

So please make your accusations somewhere else, they are not appreciated here and far from productive.

Since your bug report was not mentioning any more details, that's just what i assumed. I'm trying to help, sorry if I offended in any way.
Next time you should include those details, so that everyone has "a slight chance" of understanding the problem.

    Now back to the problem:
I dont have this problem and could not reproduce it with the new builds. I run on survival mode and use "recommended" video quality.
    System:
    GPU: gtx 970
    CPU: i7 6700 @ 3.4GHz
    Memory: 16GB RAM
    Resolution: 1920 x 1080, 60Hz
    OS: win 7 SP1

Interesting. Now i wonder if that has anything to do with the things inside your cyclops, or if it's the cyclops itself.

I just destroyed everything inside my cyclops, bug still persists. Gonna built or spawn a new one and see if it is related to that specific vehicle.

Edit: Bug is gone with a new Cyclops.

There was/is sometimes a similar bug with the Seamoth. Some have reported vary slow fps until they destroy it and make another.

I have this problem too. The game runs fine in any other situation except when I start turning in my Cyclops.

Yep, i'm also experiencing the same issue. It only happens when you dock up with the Cyclops otherwise the FPS is pretty smooth. That glitch/bug is quite weird, and i say 'weird' because when i was docked up with the Cyclops for the 1st time everything was alright, smooth FPS even when turning. But the next day... 5-10FPS. I tried Deconstructing some of the Lockers i made within the Cyclops, assuming they could somehow be the cause of the issue, but nope, the FPS remains unstable.

I have a fps problem with the cyclops and I am on the Xbox one. Although it is not as bad it is still there but like I said it is not as bad or as strong as that video or what people seem to be getting (to elaborate when I turn or move in it it acts kinda laggy but it winds up stopping only start back up again later on at some other point but it is still not stopping me from using the cyclops, I just put up with the lag)

I just discovered that the problem only occur when I have seamoth parking inside. Remove the seamoth then fps become fine. However removing seamoth from cyclop is not the solution to the problem because we all need to use seamoth.

I am also experiencing this problem on Xbox one and it seems the problem is with the Cyclops as I can turn in my Seamoth without any fps drops...

    Hi Obraxis.
I had this big fps drop when in the cyclops too, dropping to 3-4fps when I started moving with a seamoth docked inside. I later noticed a similar drop in fps, down to low teens, when I entered and launched the seamoth from the moon pool.
I stripped the moth of all upgrades and found the bug still happened.
When I built new seamoth the problem was gone. I did not destroy the original seamoth, just parked it by my base. The old seamoth is still buggy when I get in it but when left alone the rest of game works fine.

Obi/Devs - if you need me to use the buggy seamoth to get any log files let me know, as it is still parked up next to my base

Was experiencing the same thing on my seamoth. Just made a thread in general discussion. I'm gonna try crafting another seamoth to see whether it helps. Mine is only on certain zones though. For any1 wondering, i'm running gtx 1080, 120 fps on vsync being off and still 35-47 when i ride my seamoth. Thanks for the info, i'll try it and will update what happens
