NS2 and SN, proof of a shared universe

So there are many threads talking about the possibility of a shared universe. Well here I'm going to tell you the reasons and my theories on a shared universe between NS2 and SN. So the first real connection that can bproperly made is the company ALTERRA. Alterra is the military corparization that you work for but it is also the company that owns the Aurora. It is clear that this is the case if you look at the fire extinguisher and knife in SN and in NS2 lore you are told about ALTERRA. The second point is some of the similar technologies, mainly the builder and the exosuit. The builder is very clearly present in both games just with different purposes and textures but same principals (Both builders use blue beams of (matter maybe) to create structures). Than there's the exosuit which, again, is present in both games but, again, with a new texture and features. The one present in NS is a more militarised version while the one you use in SN is more useful for traversal of terrain and exploration. Than there's the red planet, the red moon. Which I believe is the same planet that most of the maps in NS are set on. Proof=If you go onto almost any map without DLC that has outside sections than you will find red tinged environments. That brings me to my theories. I have a few that I would like to share but both include the red planet so here they are:
1.Subnautica takes place before the war with the aliens. That would explain why it seems like there are no civilisations on the planet. 4546B was alterras first leap at the stars but after both crashes alterra stopped sending missions to that planet but was still interested in that sector. So they sent a mission to the planet orbiting 4546B but after setting up a few colonies they encountered the aliens and so the war began.
2.SN takes place during the war. With a lot of alterras force focused in the war alterra thinks that sending terraforming missions to the planet will offer a haven to the troops who need time off. Alterra also believed that it would offer unique environments for training their troops. Alterra also believed that it would hold unique scientific opportunities so Alterra could get back to its roots of exploration and discovery. So they sent the terraforming missions. Of course the first one crashed so Alterra sent another to rescue the survivors but this one was a mining vessel. That was the Aurora and you know the rest.
Please tell me your thoughts in your comments below.

Wait... wasn't that a cover up for their "real mission"?
The NS2 Universe is centered around the Trans-System Federation (TSF) that are a military police arm of 'trans-gov' bodies (government or corporations that own/operate intersolar phase gates). The Kharaa (Aliens) are first encountered on Sanji station in the 'Ariadne Arm' - where the Human/Kharaa conflict takes place.
Not sure if any of that strikes a chord with Subnautica. I doubt it though. It would be nice to have established canon for Subnautica, I've seen some pretty cool story threads on these boards already.
I have no idea in the PDA it says the Aurora was a mining ship with mining equipment.
