new way to leave base

Imagine a kind of window that has a forcefeild blocking water but you can walk either way through it with ease imagine putting the warp gate idea from COLDSPYDER in THIS POST outside and just stepping out of your base, going about 30 in-game meters then zapping through to another gate

    Interesting idea! :)

I've been thinking about exits myself and wondered why forcefields arn't used more. It could be really interesting to have some special lighting effects, and a wall of water like the top of the ocean you can step into. It kinda bugs the nerd in me that the current entrance doesn't fill with water like an airlock, would make for a more emotional experience. Maybe a forcefield could be used as an advanced entrance, which would be quicker and more convenient once players are using the moonpool anyway.

I must go check out this warpgate idea!

Thankyou for taking your time to read my posts! and you should make a post about that ailock thing I like it.

also i just wanted to remind you how i imagine it:

    scenarios (2):
    1. you go into your plant room and realise what seed you need so you act casual and just step up out of the wall and swim a bit into your waiting seamoth when actually you are feeling like to much of an absolute boss.
    2. your base starts flooding and the hatch is blocked (or maybe the AIRLOCK is stuck) and the alarms are sounding and flashing on the walls and you rush through the base seaglide in hand and jump out of the base just in time to avoid dying in a nuclear meltdown!!! (:P)

The last one was a bit more unlikely but still

Yeah that was the first thought I had when I heard about the warper, too. A gleaming window that you could traverse through freely. I think it could prove a bit buggy, though, going from walking to swimming. Also it would work like the Hatch, just with a different look (probably nicer).

actually, on the topic of bugs, I think it would end up ultimately fixing the bug of using warp commands inside the base because they would have to make the variable (inside or outside) change depending on where you are; not what you clicked.
