In the current game climate, you'll very rarely ever get a release date on updates until it's put through cert testing and Microsoft has given the thumbs up and the developer is prepping for launch. That's usually a window of a week.

there are too many variables. If the update isn't done, something very well could break along the way. Cert testing might find an issue which could be something simple, or it could require a complete overhaul of the update.

developers learned a long time ago not to commit to a deadline unless you can guarantee it, and even then some deadlines aren't met. Even when the developers drop content to cut developing time, deadlines aren't always met. This usually results in backlash, so it's usually best to leave people guessing until it's a for sure thing.

They've already commented on several earlier threads, like this one here: http://forums.unknownworlds.com/discussion/142532/when-will-next-update-be#latest
we are working very hard to get the update ready to send out. There was so much added in those months between where the current Xbox version is at, and the current PC version, so it has created some issues when merging the Xbox and PC versions together. We just want to make sure that we are only improving the released Xbox One version, and not making anything worse for players, so we are working hard to insure the update goes smoothly. We don't want to give out any dates, because it will just get us into trouble if we slip, but just trust that it is being worked on and the wait won't be too long.

We think we'll have the next update for you within a week or two.

But we don't know for sure, as we have a lot of work to do and we don't want to release something that's worse than what you have!
