October 19th for H2.O?

I know that the devs say we shouldn't pay much attention to release dates for patches, (according to the H2.0 poster on Trello it had a due date of 12th October), but I noticed on Trello now it appears to have a date of 19th October. That's tomorrow! I can hardly wait to see if it will be released or not.

We're not going to make the 19th (today). Things are just taking longer that we thought, but that doesn't mean we are not working very hard on bringing you the best update we possibly can :)

But we would rather they take their time and give us an update that works, rather than one that is broken. :s

Based on (unofficial) discussion, release will likely be next week, just in time for halloween.

P.S. For those of you that don't know, Oct 31 has a cherished (and possibly hated) place in the heart of every UWE employee (and fan).

Very anxious to see the new content too.... placed my hopes on the 12th, then the 19th.....

I suppose you can take it as a compliment that people are getting impatient.

No choice but to waiting abit longer.. and hope the new stuff was worth the wait :)

You know sooner or later they're actually going to have to make a finished video game... you know, with story, plot twists, character development; that sort of thing. That's going to require they switch to a development model that doesn't revolve around what new feature they can get cranked out in 30-40 days. What are we going to do then? ;)

If you were keeping up with the Trello board, then you would have seen that they have been working on the story for a long time and is close to completion (Its the implementation that will take a while). Also, this isn't really going to be a type of story that has character development.

I have been keeping up with Trello, and read that they had hired a writer some time back, but that is still going to require some kind of content lock to fully implement.

If you follow trello you can see that dev work really hard. I know they take ther week end and sleep time to time which is unacceptable (may be if we whip them...? >:) ) Keep in mind that the game become more and more complex. Complexity add difficulty. So guy's, like Khaglun say: Keep up the great work.

I feel like the devs have spoiled us with an update every month, and now that we haven't gotten one this month people a throwing a fit. The devs are not obligated to get an update out every month. Sure, its been amazing and the best experience I've ever had with an early access game, but sometimes things are going to take longer than we expect.

Well I think you are right. The updates we get bring new awesome stuff each time. We gotten accustomed to them being released quite soonish, and now the craving starts kicking in after it taking longer than expected.

It's good of them to come here and keep us updated though.

Thanks Obraxis for coming here and informing us.

Keep up the good work! You're making a jewel of a game.

I think crane has given a brilliant answer here. I'd rather wait two or three months for a decent update, than for the devs to rush one through that doesn't work. Patience is a virtue. We can see how hard the devs work, and I certainly appreciate all their hard work.
