Specialized Subnautica Weapons

First off I want everybody to calm down before the pacifists come in with the "Don't make weapons you'll hunt the ocean" or the "You're supposed to study the creatures not kill them" arguments. The second thing is that I want this thread to be filled with responses from calm, rational, level-headed human beings. I am going to ask that you try to respect my opinion just as I will try to respect yours. Now that the boring stuff is out of the way, let's get into the good stuff.

In Subnautica we have a wide variety of beasts that are out to kill us, we also have friendly beasts that we kill for food or water or are just for show. We need a way to fend off such creatures. I have a couple Ideas that I gathered together from other threads and would like to share them.

Gasopod Knockout Grenades-
These potent little suckers are capable of knocking out anything smaller than a Stalker. Anything from Stalkers to Reefbacks get drowsy, move slower, and are less likely to attack the player. Anything the size of a Reaper and bigger get aggravated by the gas with a very small chance of being drowsy. Can only be used with a Mini Cannon.
Titanium-3
Gasopod DNA-1
Crash Powder-1

Mini Cannon-
This small machine is used for launching small canisters loaded into the back of it. Maximum launch distance is 30 meters on a full charge. Can only hold 6 canisters at a time.
Titanium-5
Magnesium-1
Battery-1
Advanced Wiring Kit-1
Crash Powder-1
Lithium-1

Crash Bombs-
These bombs are used to inflict damage on anything Reaper size or bigger. Similar to the creature, these bombs are launched and hone in on the target detonating near them and dealing a decent punch.
Titanium-2
Crash Powder-2
Computer Chip-1

Mimic Boxes-
These are used to hold the cries and roars of different creatures we encounter. When launched from the cannon they will emit the same sound of prey over and over wherever they land in order to draw predators away. When used in your hand you can used predator sounds to scare smaller predators away or prey sounds to make peepers, airsacks, etc. come closer.
Copper Wire-1
Wiring Kit-1
Creature Sound Recording-1
Titanium-1

Stalker Blade-
This enameled blade is more durable than a normal knife. It's also sharper and longer. The enameled edge allows for an equal strike speed to the knife.
Titanium-2
Silicone-1
Enameled Tooth-1

Shock Blade-
This upgrade to the Stalker Blade adds in an electric shock to make predators think twice about attacking again.
Stalker Blade-1
Battery-1
Wiring Kit-1

These are just a couple ideas of mine. Leave your thoughts in the comments below. Have a good day.

The second thing is that I want this thread to be filled with responses from calm, rational, level-headed human beings.

Welp that counts me out, later dude.

    Oh man where to begin.

First off I think we could make the oceans much less hostile if we first gave the player some better static defense for their bases.

    Turret Mount
Basically a stand/charging station for weapons like the Stasis Rifle and Repulsion Cannon that allow them to run off the Seabase's power instead of their battery. Would mount to Foundations, or the Catwalks from my idea here

    Lightning Mines
Large, floating mines that release an electric burst whenever a creature gets close to scare them away. Have one use, but can be recharged via power transmitters from a nearby base.

    (Improved) Current Generators
I'd like to be able to aim current Generators

    Base Shield Generators
A spaceship level energy shield to defend the base from creature attacks. Activates automatically, turning base damage into power consumption, removing 2 from the power for each corridor/room on the base.

    =============================

    Some weapons would include

    Torpedo Grenade Launcher
Portable torpedo launcher that fires various different warheads. Can be attached to the shoulder of the Exosuit, and can be upgraded from a single shot to a 5 round magazine.
-Crash Torpedo: Explosive torpedo crafted using Crash powder that explodes with a powerful blast.
-Chum Torpedo: Torpedo stuffed with fish guts that explodes into chunky salsa to attract predators and make them fight over the free meal
-Volt Torpedo: Torpedo charged with a battery to release a static burst upon detonation to zap away hostile creatures. Can also charge disabled vehicles.
-Flash Torpedo: Torpedo loaded with magnesium to create a super bright flash on impact to startle light sensitive creatures. Absolutely enrages Reaper Leviathans.

    Speargun
Compact fishing speargun that fires titanium spears.
Must be manually reloaded after each shot.
Can be upgraded for greater range, or to act as a grappling hook.
    Crafted with
    1x Speargun Fragment
    2x Titanium
    1x Silicone
    1x Wiring Kit

    Spears are crafted with
    2x Titanium for 3x Spears

    =============================

    Some player defenses would include

    Reinforced Diving Suit
A thick padded and lightly armored diving suit to mitigate damage from creature bites. Slows swimming speed slightly.
    Crafted using
    3x Silicone Rubber
    2x Titanium
    1x Silver ore

    Bone Shark Gauntlet
An arm guard made from Bone Shark hide to block shark bites from the front. Sharks would bite the arm, and the Character would punch them until they get scared and flee, similar to dealing with a Bleeder. The Gauntlet would be able to withstand like 12 bites before becoming too perforated.
    Crafted using
    2x Silicone Rubber
    3x Bone Shark Plates

    Poseidon Armor
An advanced industrial power armor suit integrating mechanics of the Radiation suit, Stillsuit, and Armored Suit. The Poseidon Armor can control its buoyancy, allowing the player to sink to the sea floor and walk around, or swim normally. Can also use built-in engines to quickly dash in a certain direction and avoid predators. The armor takes up a 3x3 space in the inventory. Can be upgraded at the Workbench for increased storage space, greater power efficiency, or better tool efficiency.
Crafted from the Vehicle Constructor using
    2x Plasteel Ingot
    3x Silicone Rubber
    2x Lead
    1x Power Cell
    2x Advanced Wiring Kit

The suit can be assigned to the hotbar to allow the player to use its fists to punch sharks, or recharge the suit with batteries.
Double tapping "space" or "c" would toggle the buoyancy controls and switch between walking and swimming.

And that's all I got for now.

Would the stalker blade be like a machette?

    Pretty much

@04Leonhardt I have to agree with the armoured suit, I do hope that more suits get added, either with minor specialisation (like the radiation suit) or more general ones, as I do wonder why the character happened to be wearing a diving suit before the Aurora descended.

Why the hell wouldn't they be wearing a diving suit?
They know it's a water planet and that most of their work is going to be done underwater.

Maybe later on the devs could add the ability to make casual clothes for inside the base

@04Leonhardt Well, it depends, if the guy was one of the fish then yeah he would be in a suit, but there would still be a lot of people on board the ship that would stay there, such as engineers, cooks, CIC crew, cargo handlers.

It would make sense, however, that all of the escape pods would come with a diving suit. But apparently a water distilling device is too high tech for our spacefareing civilization

@sayerulz As someone who has done a lot of hiking back when he was fitter, it would be sensible for the lifeboat to have what is effectively a 10 man-day bug out kit inside, but in the game, I can understand why, as it would make it a bit too easy, but at minimum a couple of Nutrient blocks, first aid kit and a couple of bottles of water along with a random assortment of gear

    I have an idea.

Mini torpedo launcher-can launch various small, self propelled projectiles, inculding:

Flechett'e (yes I know I spelled it wrong) torpedoes: just a little motor and propeller with a metal point on the tip, will fire forward at about the speed of a peeper to a moderate range, and deal damage on impact. One hit for various small fish and biters, two for cave crawlers, five for stalkers, ten for bone/sand sharks (due to their armor) and a crazy amount for reapers, they will really just make them angry. Crafted with titanium and copper.

Explosive torpedoes: Go forward to a certain distance and detonate. The explosive is too small to hurt anything but small fish at very close proximity, but the noise and flash will scare away most creatures. Crafted with titanium, magnesium, and crash powder.

Tranq torpedoes: greatly slow targets on impact for a time. crafted with titanium and..... something else.

Gasopod torpedos: acts like the explosive one, except on detonation it creates a cloud of gasopod poison that will deter any creature from entering it, and do mild damage to anything passing through it.

Tethered torpedo: on impact with a target, it will stick into it and is tethered to the player, and so can be used to catch fish effectively, or anchor you to a reefback or any other large creature. Creatures larger than the player will drag you around instead of the other way around, so it is perhaps not the best idea to use it one a hostile creature or a gasopod. reusable unless you cut the line which you have to do to release it without going to the end that is stuck to something. Crafted with titanium, creepvine, silicone, and adhesive (obtained from the blue barnacle things).

Guided torpedos: there are guided versions of all of them except for the explosive and gasopod ones, which when fired will allow one to lock onto a target which they will seek out when fired. Crafted with the normal version and a wiring kit.

The Mini Torpedo Launcher seems to be a popular idea.

We're gonna need more ammo slots...

Personly i think that the less types of weapons to more fun the game will be!
Why? Beacouse i love being afraid and know if you fail you WILL die. I love that all you're defens is the repulsioncannon.
As well i sometimes wan't weapons but i wan't no weapons more.
