    Could you please read this: http://forums.unknownworlds.com/discussion/131384/how-to-make-a-good-tech-support-post

    This is a tech support by volunteers we don't have access to any files you have sent to uwe, so we need you to post them directly here ;)

    More than likely, your system_options.xml file found in your hidden folder %appdata%/Natural Selection 2/ is using a renderer like DX11 instead of DX9.
    Try swapping it. :)

    Definitely upload your techsupport.zip file here for analysis tho.

    @IronHorse‌
    Unfortunately I have to disagree. I have the exact same Problem with build 265.
    I've deleted the whole "Natural Selection 2" folder in %appdata%/roaming and NS2 generated this:
    <options>
    <system>
    <runs>1</runs>
    <build>265</build>
    </system>
    <graphics>
    <display>
    <x-resolution>1280</x-resolution>
    <shadows>true</shadows>
    <bloom>true</bloom>
    <y-resolution>800</y-resolution>
    <display-buffering>0</display-buffering>
    <anisotropic-filtering>true</anisotropic-filtering>
    <anti-aliasing>true</anti-aliasing>
    <quality>1</quality>
    <window-mode>fullscreen</window-mode>
    <atmospherics>true</atmospherics>
    </display>
    <texture-streaming>true</texture-streaming>
    <device>D3D9</device>
    </graphics>
    </options>
    So it is in standard DX9 mode.

    Also the Debug Report did never finish uploading, I don't know if the devs even have this report?

    So here is the "log.txt" from the bug report:

    https://mega.co.nz/#!E1NHQKaB!jmX4gHmdzmvnmHXTiuOcWZVyd2ITmi5o75nYDUgOeqc

    This failure can easily be reproduced, I practically can't play NS2 because it doesn't even start. A fix would be nice.

    EDIT: Also I see sometimes a loading screen then the turning blue circle just stops to turn which means the game is frozen/crashed. Seldom NS2 makes it to the main menu screen where it just starts to load textures and but never finishes due to a freeze/crash.

    I was playing NS2 fine last night, I come to try today and also get this exact problem within 5 seconds of main menu loading, ive made absolutely no changes to the game or my pc. using -nomodupdate makes it worse, it crashes on the initial loading screen.

    Could you post your log?

    If you really have the same issue then we have to do it the other way: Unsubscribe all mods at the workshop (here: http://steamcommunity.com/workshop/browse?appid=4920&browsesort=mysubscriptions&browsefilter=mysubscriptions) then delete %appdata%\NaturalSelection2\workshop and restart ns2

    If all of you noticed in your logs.. you are all loading mods before even reaching the main menu. ;)

    I had the same issue and the way i fixed it was to unsubscribe to all workshop items and then delete the %appdata%\NaturalSelection2 folder, this meant i had to restore my video settings but hey at least it works right ;)

    I fixed this by unsubscribing the the following mods on workshop:

    Minimal Alien Vision
    All-white dot crosshairs
    Detailed Map Type B
    Official Upcoming Balance Mod
    DAK

    I had the same issue. I finally got it fixed, and I noticed that it was not necessary to unsubscribe from *all* of my Workshop mods. I removed 15 out of my ~70 subscriptions, and one of them did the trick, apparently. Also, it worked without deleting the Workshop folder. (I deleted the cache folder, though.)

    Additionally:
    - Neither "-nomodupdate" nor "-noerrors" seemed to change anything (also not in combination)
    - I did not unsubscribe from Huze's "minimal alien vision", so I don't think it's at fault? (@SamusDroid)
    - There is no overlap between the mods I unsubscribed from with those that @Zek listed; I don't have a full list, though

    Hi @cali_joem - this is a known issue and will be fixed in 266. We suspect something changed at Valve and we're now patching in a work-around for 266 which will be released soon. Hang in there! :)

    @Obrix - I got it to work. I unsubscribe in the work shop to everything i had subscribe to and it worked, know i have major impact on my graphic performance, i wont get no more than 15 to 28 FPS and i lower everything down and turn everything off, use to get 68-85 FPS in High settings.
