I have looked all over google, and this forum and have not found the problem that i am having..if it is somewhere, then i am sorry.

so i decided to start up a private server for my friends. i followed the installing and setup on the wiki and the server starts up fine. but when i go in-game, it has (LAN) next to my server name(all other servers work fine), and only i am able to join. i do have a dynamic ip, but it only changes when i restart my router. i forwarded the ports that are needed. i recently setup a no-ip.com host, but im also unsure how to use it for my server, or if it would make a difference with this issue.

You probably need to port map (or set as DMZ) the computer the Server is hosted on, through the router for others to see / join it...

It will still (and always) show as LAN for you, as it is local to you, but once you have set the port mappings in your router, others will see it in the normal server list!

well, i am currently going through a router that is setup just to extend the connections(forgot what the term for it is), then a normal router, then into the comcast modem. today i set the comcast modem as a dmz, but i did not do that to my router yet.(ill try it now)

i do not know exactly what dmz is(i know generally what it is), but i have heard that...it can be dangerous to have it on?

Edit: setting my computer as DMZ made it possible to host for my friends, but...now im using all the internet in the house...which is a problem with about 5 computers. is there any thing else that i could do that you think would work?

Edit 2: well...i turned off DMZ, and it is still working...not sure what i did to fix it, but whatever
