Random ping spikes [somewhat SOLVED]

On my server, since updating to 251 I encounter random ping spikes. For all players, that is.
For no apparent reason and no reproducable the ping for all players goes up to 155-165 and stays there. Time between the spikes varies. There's literally nothing else running on the machine except one NS2 server.

I've seen that on other servers as well and was wondering if you guys have a fix for this issue, not really in the mood for a fresh reinstall right now :/

    I have seen that happen on a couple of servers from 12 to 20 players. It usually lasts about 2-5 minutes until everything returns to normal. There seems to be no pattern at what point it occurs. Had it at round start, middle or end.

    edit: Also the server tick didnt go down during that time. Just the pings.

    Well, I didn't find a cure, but a fresh install fixed it.
