Hello guys, I'm sorry if i selected the bad section :P.
I am writing to know if my computer is able to start and play ns2 satisfactorily...

about the VRAM, VRAM is not something you should concern yourself with in terms of graphics card performance. The most important parts is the type of vram (GDDR3 or GDDR5), the processor on the graphics card, the clock speeds and the memory bandwidth (128 bit, 256 bit etc). A lot of people think their card is good because it's 2GB, this is a misconception brought forward by sales at walk in stores.
Is that a mobile or desktop PC. If it's a desktop, upgrade to a 7770, it'll set you back about $120. You'll be able to run ns2 on decent settings at 1080p, I recommend minimum for the best experience (makes me play better due to less latency from my input to the game responding).
If it's a laptop, forget about NS2 until you have a desktop. Mobile chips with the same number values are often much much lower end than the desktop name equivalent:
nvidia GTX 660M is equivalent to an Nvidia GTS 450 or Radeon 4850 in performance.
btw there is no hardware available which can run ns2 flawless,
even if there where, the servers running at max 30ticks per second,
so they can track a maximum of 25% of bullets you fire, the rest goes into the void.
so.... well... die trying.

If you're on a laptop, don't bother with NS2, if youre on a desktop, upgrade your graphics card to a 7770 and your ram to 8GB and you'll be able to enjoy ns2. But the M in your graphics card model name makes me think it's a laptop.
It *should* run NS2 on low to medium detail at playable framerates.
Fine being 80-100fps on NSL maps with 12 players, 60-80 fps on regular maps with 24 players, 40-60 fps on two of the maps that no one likes anyway.
It can become... not unplayable.. but in the very late game I throw away alot of alien lifeforms because I get really mad that I can't be highly effective with 20fps haha
You'll just get used to it, and someday when you upgrade you'll just be better
edit: I've never turned a single graphics setting above low, never turned on any of the filter or alias settings. everything off. You could turn it on high to see the pretty, but it wont be playable. In my opinion this doesn't take away from the atmosphere.
Your gfx card is about 2-3 times better than mine and your cpu is nearly twice .. I can get 30-40fps with min detail at about 1152x856 (or whatever res is around that) + vsync off .. so at a guess you'll be alright
I've already mentioned this, but I play on minimum settings anyway because the game feels better on low and is thus more enjoyable to play. I'm using a Radeon HD 7970. My CPU is the i5 2500 non k. Your cpu is the S variant, meaning you can probably force it to clock higher while using more electricity.
The biggest issue is heat when overclocking. Performance should be acceptable on the 2400s though.
sorry for late answer, i just checked, u r wrong.
standard tickrate is 30 @ut3
which is no problem at all,
cause you cant set max settings as standardsettings
this would kill normal servers and slow pcs @home lan parties.
in ut3 you can change the server tickrate up to at least 100 tick per setcond,
but i guess u can go higher too.
