HELP! I CANT PLAY! NEED HELP!

when i get into the game i get taken to the main menu (as usual) but when i click on options, play, mods ect... it take me to a background screen with nothing on it (example) i clicked on play and it takes me to the background screen with nothing on it apart from the play button in the right hand corner which does nothing.
i have tried so many things (uninstalling, game cache and even everything this guy said http://forums.unknownworlds.com/discussion/130695/i-can-t-play-the-game-3rd-time-i-have-posted-this-and-no-one-has-got-back-to-me) please help i really want to play this game.

do you have a log we can have a look at? It is in %appdata%/Natural Selection 2/log.txt

Did things work before and simply have stopped now ?

Yeh I'm having the same problem after buying it on the 66% off weekend. Tried so many "fixes" and reinstalls. I had the free weekend quite a while back, but tried deleting everything related to it after uninstalling the full game itself but to no avail. Really at a loss on what to do. Great game, hope I haven't wasted money on a dud.

As already mentioned, @RazorPick and @Squinty, get your log.txt and post it on the forums as an attachment so professionals can review it and tell you what's causing your issues.

I have 2 videocards 1 Intel HD 4000 and AMD Radeon HD 7730m game started on Intel HD 4000 but it is weak, and on AMD Radeon HD 7730m there is this bug!

You have to force NS2 to use your Radeon card in the CCC but I don't know where to find the option right now

Bought the game during the 66% off weekend sale.

Game crashes constantly in various scenarios. Upon launch, join server, quit game, etc. Tried numerous fixes as suggested in forums. I have only been able to successfully play 1 single full match, after which the game (naturally) crashed.

Running Windows 7 64-bit SP1, AMD Phenom II x6 1045T Processor, 16gb RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti.

Guys, I solved my problem by updating drivers for gaming graphics card Radeon HD 7730m and about the CCC, it automatically switches between cards!

For all those having issues:

Update your graphics chip drivers from Nvidia/AMD/Intel.

Then...

Disable all mods from within NS2 first, and unsubscribe from any in your Mods list.

Then.....

Delete NS2 from Steam. Then do a manual NS2 Cleanup (this is not done when Steam deletes NS2 from your Library) like follows:

1) Delete NS2 from Steam the normal way.
2) Go to C:\Users\YOURUSERNAMEHERE\AppData\Roaming and Delete the 'Natural Selection 2' folder.
3) Go to your SteamApps\common Directory and make sure you delete 'natural selection 2'
4) Restart your PC (to be on the safe side)
5) Reinstall NS2 fresh from a new download.

Try those steps and report back.

I dont have any mods installed because I'm brand new to the game. But I followed the above instructions on deleting the game from my system and reinstalling. The 1st time I launched the game after the reinstall, I got to the main menu, and immediately crashed to the report a crash window.

What a piece of junk this game is...I'm done.

Well @ryandiaz your problem sounds far different from anyone in here, you should consider starting a new thread to diagnose it.

if you choose to try anything further, whenever you crash :

Keep the NS2 window open, even if it is a black window.
Navigate to your NS2 install directory and run Techsupport.exe
It will create a potentially large dump file. Ensure it contains a "minidump" folder in the zip.
Upload this to a free drop box account or anywhere else on the internet.

This is the fastest method in which to find the culprit, for the developers.
