i wish i was cool enough to call people by their first names
Not sure if trolling or attempt at mocking humour?
Most people who have been around here for a while know the devs by their real names or in-house names (so to speak). I don't think anyone calls Cory 'Pig' or 'Squeal'. To be fair, he could have made it easier for us all by choosing a reasonable alias.
Perhaps it is the sound that the Hughnicorn makes during mating season? It is anyone's guess.

Patch worked great in beta! Now that it has been released as full my frame rate has little if no improvement. During game play on beta I would average about 120 to 140 frames per second with my lowest drop frame rate drop at about 72 frames per second. After installing final release of the 249 patch I am still struggling to hit 80 frames per second. My GPU wait time fluctuates now as well, it never did during 249 beta or while using the 248 patch.

So rather than trying a nerf , whacking nades is just disabled, interesting.
It wasn't disabled for balance reasons, it was disabled because grenades were changed to be predicted client side. This makes them much better to use, but causes technical issues with the Whip whacking, because it is not a predicted action. Given more time and effort there might be some workarounds, but considering that GLs are already so underused, it doesn't seem to be worth the effort at the moment.
Balance
Increased grenade launcher reserve ammo to 28 (up from 16)
Disabled Whip Grenade whack
you know who to whip now
You should push your explanation in the changelog, when I read balance I cant know it's actually linked to a technical constraint.
Thanks for the clarification
There hasn't been a Steam news item about the last two patches. It's a bit of a shame since those news items are free advertising to all NS2 owners (and anyone else paying attention) which says "the game is even better now, why not give it another go?". There have been many occasions where I've started playing a game again when I see that it's had a new patch...such as today with CS:GO.
In fact with an update as important as 249, games journalists may even take an interest.

It's been awhile since I've had the time to play (having a 3 month old really digs into gaming time; who knew?) but this seems like a Yogi Bera-ism; "Nobody goes to that place, it's too crowded". GLs were probably underused because of whacking, so removing whacking will surely cause them to be used a bit more, no?

Personally I think 'Cory' is a damn cool name.
Now I'm looking forward to sewlek balance mod to be implemented
Hey Squeal, nice art. Pig.
Karma.
still too cool for me
No, I'm not kidding.
You know a patch is good when...
:bz
Banishing demons with holy water? Heck if I know.
for giggles disable any overclocking. Arma did something like that back a bit ago
I'm overclocked and don't have this issue, so it shouldn't be that

Make sure it's not server with enabled logging.

They were there for quite some time already. Nobody ever noticed them I guess.

At first I thought I did, but then again, I've been playing BT mod a lot lately, so going back to vanilla skulk feels weird anyway.
Maybe the second suggestion, but I'd rather have them explode when hit with lerk spikes or parasite, if that is technically possible.
Some people in the server that i was playing and myself, noticed that too.
