"We're working with game developers to bring on more games, stay tuned for more info on that. And feel free to tell us in the discussions which games you'd like to see next.

If you're a game developer interested in adding cards, contact your Steam account manager to learn about the tools we've added to make it easy." -valve

unless this will take a lot of time out of dev time, then do eeettt later! (also see if it's possible to make it so all cards drop from in-game, unless valve forces only half.. because the way this system works is to make you spend money to get all the cards, which is dumb and I'll probably never have all the cards) but I just totally want a fade or something background for my steam profile.. or a gorge emoticon.. omg the cuteness!!!!

and sadly enough this will most likely bring in a small amount of players for a short period of time

I once printed and laminated a set of trading cards for the original NS1 aliens using their concept art. They were done Yu-Gi-Oh style, with attack and defense points. I'm not sure where they ended up but it was a fun little project.

    They have cooties, obviously.

However, +1 to NS2: The Card Game.

This is a level of nerd I have not hit, I'm going to say a good percentage of gamers are not there either.

And I don't mean nerd in a bad way..

I've played portal 2 and half-life 2 a bit just to get some cards, sold em, got few moneys. If UWE will introduce ns2 cards, I'll sell some more and buy digital deluxe, when there is a sale :D I really don't want to bother playing any more p2/hl2/tf2 for the sake of getting cards.

The whole card system for ns2 could keep players in the game longer before moving onto the next game. which would be great +1

Yeah, we'll probably look into this, though it would need to not take up much dev time.

I felt that the Steam cards were a bit silly, but people went NUTS over these things when the beta was released.

It'll defintely get certain people on my friend list to play NS2. It got us all together with CS:GO, which is a rarity.

One thing that's bothered me about NS2 is that much of the beautiful artwork is not particularly evident in-game or has been buried in the deluxe content. Trading cards seems like a great way to show off much of that artwork in a prominent manner.

Yes, I'd love to have some of them as backgrounds on my steam profile. HOWEVER we won't have any of them as backgrounds with the current method they use for trading cards, so hopefully they can make it so ALL cards can be earned in-game. The way the system works is you get HALF of the total cards via random dropping, the next half must be traded or PURCHASED. I am fully against this system, so even if it does get implemented but works in the current manner then I'll have no interest.. as cool as it'd be to have a fade background and adorable gorges to use in chat
