<div class="IPBDescription">**Warning** Large Pictures!</div> I have been building like this with 2-4 OCs and 2-3 DC and any other chamber you want to add. It has performed much better than straight walls for me because when a soldier looks at them it seems all of them instead of 1 form around the corner and all of them shoot at the marine. Here's an example of it on ns_tanith, try building like next time you play

Turn up your monitor brightness or something if you cant see the pics

**damn hold on let me find another host**

    Yeah, thats how i build my walls of lame. not impenetrable solid straight edged walls, but tapering off so that mainres cant take em out 1 by 1, they have to pop out to hopefully get nabbed by my web, and nailed by 3+ Offence chambers. (this way, they cant tell exactly how many there are) and I like to leave one chamber up early as a warning system and to trick them into thinking its just one more lone cahmber, when in fact its a wall of lame, with Healing behind, and web in front. Makes marines a little more carfull, and leaves some room for onus to move about, instead of them getting walled in.

    hmm, the actually GOOD threads get bumped to the 3rd page while the lamer pages are first, with 3 pages of replies.....

    These wall building techniques work great on marines that wont rush the WOL, but for those that do.. it wont provide what the walls are supposed to be used for.. slowing the marines down. However, assuming you keep the webbing on the floor fresh and replace it when it is used, these WOLs are devestating for the marine team.

    I guess people just call it like that.. huge line of OC/DC chambers stacked
    together = wall of lame. There is a reason for that name too,
    i guess many of us have been stuck in these sometimes, perfect name i guess <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->.

    bah i like my mega towers better, looks like a funny offense tower....SURPRISE! actually theres 9 of and 9 def hidden inside
    and it shoots faster than a marine turrent lol just hide it beside a entrance with some webs BAM dead marines everywhere
    all tho its a res hog you can do it with just a couple of em too. Well i dunno if its kinda a cheat as it doesnt work on bet 4 servers so i guess it is really a bug somethin... but its really fun to do once in a while.

    you mean you make the chambers on top fall down?

    Come to think of it, I like the name "Wall of Pain" better. Makes it sound legitimate, and dangerous <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    yes, you have to make O towers like this. Also, try to plant your webs nearly vertical to the door, not diagonal.

    <!--c1--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>CODE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='CODE'><!--ec1-->
    } = webbing

               }
              }
             }
            }
    ____}
           |
    <!--c2--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--ec2-->
    Not like this <!--c1--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>CODE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='CODE'><!--ec1-->

                              }
                           }
                        }
                     }
                  }
    ______}
              |<!--c2--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--ec2-->

    So that the marines get webbed as SOON as they are within the LOS of the chambers.

    I do it like this:

    <!--c1--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>CODE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='CODE'><!--ec1-->

               |          o |
               |     o      |
               |o           |
    ______|             |
                $           |
                             |
    _____________|

    <!--c2--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--ec2-->

    Or possibly like this

    <!--c1--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>CODE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='CODE'><!--ec1-->

               |          o |
               |     o      |
               |o           |
    ______|             |
                $           |
                 $          |
    _______ $_____|

    <!--c2--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--ec2-->

    Where the o's are OCs and the $s are webs. This setup makes it so that any blundering marine gets webbed at the exact moment he comes into the LOS of all the OCs (which of course = death for the marine). The first example is for when the colour of the ground doesn't conceal the webbing enough, in this case it's better just to have a little tiny bit on the corner instead of a big thread stretching across the entire floor.

    one of my favorite spots on caged... the floors are great for webbing.

    <a href='http://q36.gameover.com/webbed.jpg' target='_blank'><img src='http://q36.gameover.com/webbed1.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image'></a>

    <a href='http://q36.gameover.com/overhead.jpg' target='_blank'><img src='http://q36.gameover.com/overhead1.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image'></a>

    thanks for the other suggestions

    If ya dont mind me adding...the better lit an area is, the harder the webs are to see...especially if you just put one strand about an inch from the floor <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

    there's about 10-12 strands of web directly on the floor, overlapping the floor's grill work... almost invisible, particularly in the well lit area

    Good little tips on this Thread.

    One thing I would like to add is that web should be used just about everywhere. Of course there are some areas that could use strategic placement of webs instead of just spam styles (ie. near Hives or Resource Nodes important places where you don't want to have limits so you can lay good OC/DC/Web Traps). Everywhere else, down hallways, vital junctions, in door ways, web it all up. Remember to leave a few high if you think a JPer can get through.

    Web, as we gorges have all discovered, is a very powerful tool/weapon.
