One I knocked up, took me ages to do
The second one I liked the concept of but it made me think of STARK industries. Also I thought the use of the spark as the K was a more clever way to incorporate a graphical motif than a lightning bolt in the A (although the use of negative space is cool).
Also, blue/orange are colorblind friendly colors (for people that are red/green colorblind)

I wish I had the skills in Illustrator to attempt this one. I imagine you could blow up the icon a bit and write SPARK across the horizontal line. Done up right, it could look very good and would be nice reference to NS1.
I think the image itself would require a great deal of reinterpretation, and more imagination than I am capable of. I'm more than willing to accept half the prize if anyone uses this concept though.

This one is cool, but off balance. I like the little spark/explosion between the two words and could definitely see how this one could be animated.

That it is. I will be a little upset if that isn't used, as it is awesome.
Blue and orange are complementary colors. An orange object on a blue background makes you want to look at the orange, and vice versa. You often see this in paintings where there's an orange (fruit) in a bowl with blue napkins underneath it.

There are a huge number of entries into this contest! I think 800 is a lot for a logo on this site.
