Help! My computer downdated my version of ns2!

Just what the title says! Updated to patch 238 played one round, had a crash. On re-opening NS2, the client had loaded build 228!! WTF!?
Here is a screen shot of the console. I have tried: restarting the game, steam, and my computer. I also the the validate files thing through steam. Anyone have any ideeeeeeas pleeeeeease? I really don't want to reinstall the whole game.
