Thanks a lot for your dedication to provide the community with tutorials and help. This little project of yours is a testament to the great collaboration of UWE with their community.
If I ever find time in the near future I might help out with a bit of code or some mapping for your Gorge race <3

Great stuff!
Whats the situation with the UW collada plugin? When can we expect a version that's compatible with more recent builds of 3d max or other modeling suites? I currently use 2013 which has poor backwards compatibility with 2009.
Moreover, I can't get the plugin to work on my version of 2009 (64 bit/windows 7) on either my laptop or desktop. more info here
Thanks

Love how you are putting a lot of effort to allow use to create custom content however please get a new updated Collada plugin for 3ds max 2010-2013. I can't get 2009 and only have access to the newer ones :[

I want to see really fat marines. Butt cracking, tight shirts/pants and a helmet that barely fits. Please make this happen. I believe having different sizes when it comes to marines, skinny, fat, short will bring diversity and funny screenshot moments.

Duke Nukem marine. Complete with badass 90's sunglasses, blonde flat top, musty odor, rippling biceps, a cigar in his mouth, and a big effin gun.

i really like to hear that you want to make modding easier at all, i got 2 questions never the less cuz you did not mention it:

- how to modify sound files? or add new ones if i want to add more guns or stuff to the game?

- which data do i need to manipulate actually to translate the game ? the enUS and deDE .txt in /strings dont change anything ^^

There's nothing magical about our the Collada plugin. We created it so that we could get Collada out of 3D Studio MAX 2009 which had a very buggy implementation built-in. However, Collada is very complicated and it's tough to support all of the quirks that different tools will export, and as a result our tools don't currently support all Collada files. Brian has been giving me examples of Collada files that don't work, and I've been working on adding support for these. In the next patch, you should hopefully be able to use any Collada plugin with 3D Studio MAX 2013 and not need our exporter.

As a 3d max user I'm not too bothered about any other tools, I was trying to sound less selfish! Just having it compatible with more recent builds of 3ds max is all one can ask. Guess I'll continue making stuff and wait for the updates.
Thanks

Awesome ! Thanks you so much for your generosity & thrust.

But i have to ask you if we can expect compatibility enhancement of the collada plug-in with later releases of 3dsmax ?
