    Dunno if you've been reading the comments Hugh but everyone loves you :) Great job with the video/interview/demos - all the comments I've seen so far seem to be extremely positive ! ..well, aside from the funny ones saying NS2 is a copy of Tremulous and stuff like that =P

    Hrm, all the youtube comments from "unknownworlds" seem to get reported as spam :/

    On one of the feedback things TB mentions, can the grid when placing a building be a distinct grey (gotta be careful that it's easy to tell apart in spite of the generally blue and grey environments) in areas not yet powered? And red, if the node has been destroyed... or is that already in? Thought I saw it in the video, but it might just have been the emergency lights.

    Greying out but still displaying enemy structures that're in the fog of war seems like a popular request too, going by the youtube comments.

    After watching the commander view, being able to see through the clipping of the walls and vents does not look polished, and it is not clear where things end and others begin.

    I'd really like to see the brush that clips the walls actually become a 'black' roofing in the negative space of the map.

    I know it is a little rough, and not 100% correct... but you get the idea. A 2 min job.

    @ Nanogrid, it could actually be a simple check to see if it would be powered or not and then place one of those unpowered lightning icons on the ghost structure or next to the cursor, before placement.

    also agree with Runteh and Kouji that more refined "info" in the commander view is essential. with the power issue, you should easily be able to tell if that structure will be powered. and power packs prolly need a better description, cause i think TB was trying to chain them together like cysts

    I was thinking Aliens should already have darkness in the Alien starting Hive. Sadly, you can't have darkness until the Marines put a power node in that area... I wish Aliens could already own half the map in darkness from the beginning.

    Yeah I noticed that as well, must be a Nuclear Dawn thing as he did play that for a bit as well. There you have to chain your power using Relay Towers

    That's why they won't see the place lit up. It'll be red and dark :) so the comm will know that's an area he needs to work on instead of having the whole map full of light from the beginning of the game.

    Wow my timing to come back seems to have been at the worse/best time .. tbh Its been along time since alpha .. so its going to be amazing seeing the game run again . (had major pc issues so couldnt really play)

    But i guess there will be some give on doing stupid things now :D

    I do get what you're saying - it's weird that a room can't go dark till marines build something, then aliens break it. However...

    I think light should be the default setting. As is, the whole darkness mechanic is designed to be an alien strike against marine-occupied zones. It's a kind of "attack," not a natural state of being for the map. Don't forget, darkness in a zone is a clear disadvantage to marines. Meeting in neutral ground between bases should be neutral balance-wise, with both teams being able to see.
    Aliens already get their hidey-holes, so let marines at least get the opportunity to see them out of the corner of their eye.

    Darkness is not a mark of alien ownership - dynamic infestation is. Aliens like light just fine.
    Plus, aliens are invaders in marine facilities. Said facilities are SUPPOSED to be powered and operational at the point the game begins, as aliens have not yet infested their half of the map.

    he doesn't normally do "reviews". he makes "first impression" vids. some things like Planetside 2 he'll continue to go back to however.
