As most of you already know, next Saturday, the tenth of November, we're going to have the most exciting competitive event in NS2 yet, with the final of the ESL NS2 Release Tournament. I can tell your right now that it's going to be bloody awesome. Two teams on LAN, live in the ESL studio in Cologne, Germany, duking it out for the title of best European team.
The finalists are, after the qualifiers last weekend: Archaea and Exertus. Both extremely skilled and talented teams, both at the cutting edge of personal skill, teamwork and strategies. In previous tournaments, Archaea have gotten the best of Exertus, but that may all change now. Both teams' players will be thrown into an unknown environment, playing on unfamiliar equipment in unfamiliar surroundings, under tons pressure to perform. Conditions will finally be 100 % fair, with everyone playing on the same equipment and with no ping advantage/disadvantage. Past results will not matter at all; the team that comes out on top in the end will be the team that is not only the best prepared, but also the team that keeps their cool and adapts the fastest to these new conditions.
This will also be the first tournament post-release, so expect to see some new strategies and metagame shifts from previous tournaments.
I'm personally really excited about this event (obviously, since I'm playing in it) and I hope you guys are too. We (Archaea) and Exertus will be doing our very best to give you some exciting games and I can guarantee you that it will be worth watching.
Huge props to UWE and ESL for arranging this tournament!
(I've promised Exertus hugs in Cologne, but elmo threatened to slap me :( )

Also, to give us an edge and to distract you, Zups has promised to play without a shirt. ;)

zups will deny any dresscode requirements
is it possible to go there as a guest and just watch? so will there be an audience? I am living 45 min away from cologne so it would be nice to see it live.
O. M. G. This is gonna be the luckiest day of my life. I will do nothing but stare. <3 zups
Nobody will see him anyway because the giant nadyli is blocking the view. The guy is like 3 meters tall. He eats tanes for breakfast.

Unfortunately not, no room in that particular studio for spectators.

We should all play naked. Clothes are an unfair advantage.
Don't Exertus usually play in a Sauna anyways?
Unfortunately PCs do tend to overheat in saunas. To compensate we first dip in ice lake and fight few polar bears pre-game and then join the server. After winning the game we continue our business as usual (more sauna).
Are you sure you're not confusing him with is evil twin brother?

skulkface? D: om-nom-nom
I thought it was more of a "metal band" look, which makes sense considering the Finn roots? :P
GL to both! so excited to watch high level play. keep us updated with stream links etc here for those who aren't on the ball about following it.

I think it's a Finn look. All metal bands just want to look like Finns or are Finns.
PLEASE MY EYES

relevant bits:
-esl takes two years to pay out prize money
-they take even longer to pay teams for small games without big sponsors
