Mini gun hit detection

Does the minigun use hit scan for hit detection, or does it fire "projectiles" like lerk spike does?

The reason I ask is because, past 200 ping, projectile based attacks like spit and spikes becomes pointless to use. I need to know where not to spend my resources. From what limited experience I have in the heavy, it seems like absolutely nothing I fire at gets hit. This could just be bad aiming, but it feels a lot like the lerk situation.

Both the Minigun and Lerk spikes are hit scan.

I don't know whether this makes me more concerned about how bad I must be with spikes, or how badly your hitscan is screwing me over with the LMG.

I'll need to test this further.

I did notice the similarities between lerk and exo fire. But I haven't had much troubles with either.

Keep in mind that spikes and minigun have a pretty high spread.

If you can find any problem with hit detection, also on high ping servers, please make a video to document it, or at least a reproducable description.

Do you notice similarities or differences between lerk fire and rifle fire? Does anybody else?

To me it seems like they run on completely different principles.

Go stand next to a pane of glass. Fire the exosuit. Notice how small the spread is.

Go stand next to a pane of glass. Fire the lerk spike. Notice how big the spread is.

    There is your answer.

Spikes have mad spread. Stupid things contrive to hit everywhere BUT under the crosshair. I swear Ive seen my spikes drill marineshaped outlines in walls around marines but not hit the actual damn marines.
