I guess it's a safe way to go, but then again this would've been probably the best chance to rethink or clean the hero pool. 108 heroes is quite a crowd both in the sense accessibility and also in terms of having room for additions.

I think variety is important to keep it interesting, but totally agree it will make it near impossible for a new player to learn.

I'm happy all the heroes are coming over (Invoker and Techies aside) but it's a shame power creep means there's definite tiers of heroes.

I think its needed, Dota 2 is pretty much just Dota 1 except instead of it being a map it is now its own full game, not really a sequel, its just Dota on a new engine.

There will always be room for additions, but Dota isnt about making a new hero every other week, some take months before any new heroes are made, and even with the gigantic pool, the newest heroes, like shredder, skywrath, and commander, are still very unique even though the hero pool is massive.

    ...

Now the next tourney is the International 2 by Valve, its another $1,000,000 prize for the top team and since its Valve own tourney it is free on DotaTV in game.
It was $1million total prize pool, not for the winner.

The original news stories were talking about the whole pool was 1 mil. That's actually insane!

You take that back sherpa. You take it back right now.

NEVER! He's such a cheesy hero, hiding under the illusion that invoke makes him difficult to play.

It was a 1,600,000 prize pool and 1,000,000 for the winner.

I'm looking for Bounty Hunter items if anyone's got any to trade.

My inventory, I think the pick of items I'd be willing to let go are a couple of Juggernaut swords with 'strange' modifiers (one tracks kills, the other omnislashes).

Wait this game has customizable items? Now I understand why Valve jumped in it. All abord the microtransaction train.

I think DotA2 is the first time I've seen the whole microtransaction system working beneficially. So far it has been a small bit of fun rather than an annoyance. Hopefully the props don't go totally overboard in the future though.

I'm all for the way Valve are doing microtransactions in Dota 2- the hero pool is free, cosmetic items never change the silhouette or colour palette of the heroes* and the tickets for tournament spectating is just fantastic.

    * This pissed me off in HoN- when the Dota 2 servers died one day I gave HoN a go after not playing for about 4 months and had no idea who the alternate skins were supposed to be.
