I'm fairly sure the onos simply gores the marines with the giant horn. Or stomps to stun them. I like to think that he's a herbivore.
Edit: Just remembered about devour. Please disregard. I'm an idiot.
i think they mentioned somewhere that devour is not coming back. and i can see why: the fact that there are numerous other crippling abilities does not justify adding yet another one. on the contrary, enough is enough!
Should just move stomp to hive2 and make it able to disable/disrupt marine structures again. Make it only be able to disable one building at a time and higher energy cost so you cant spam it. Funny thing with onos is that regen is a lot better choice than carapace in almost every situation. I only find it reasonable to get carapace when youre in for a one way mission in the form of baserush or something. Otherwise its just not worth it to sacrifice even more of your already limited maneuverability. And you can of course keep a lot better presence in the map with regen, without needing to have a gorge blocking you all the time. Onos certainly is very situational and most of the time not really worth getting, but sometimes it can really help to overwhelm the marines. I think the onos will get more use once the exo is in, as i dont see fades and skulks really being able to deal with them in direct combat on the later stages of the game.
afaik exo's miniguns deal heavy-type damage meaning your armor is basically just additional hp. thats merely 53 (64 with carapace) hits to take down an onos (according to the current balance files). no idea what the rate of fire is, but a minigun sounds kinda fast right?
Yeah, if they keep those damage values its going to be quite impossible to take on a exo in direct combat with any alien class. You would indeed imagine a minigun is going to have a high rof, not to mention you can supposedly carry two of them. Most likely exo can kill an onos 1vs1 with no problems, if theres not going to be devour. I dont think stomping and goreing the exo (for what, 8+ times?) to kill it is going to work too well. Then if you add nanoshield+medpack or two, its going to be quite unkillable while its going to deal huge dps on the onos. I am quite anxious to see how exactly its all going to work out without devour.

Onos is getting Primal Scream, it's already in the code, just not released yet :)
I really hope all this nerfing and balancing of the Onos, since the original release version has purely been to do with getting it to balance in with the current game. Hopefully when the Exo is in, Onos will return to something matching the original release specs, or he will be ripped to shreds by Exo's!!!
The onos is not fun in comparison to earlier builds. Right now every job the onos can do, another life form can do better. Rushing a base? Gorge can do better with bile bomb. Camping a passage? A fade is way more viable.
You need to decide about the role the onos should get. I think it should be the role of the tank. So he needs way more health but should do less damage. It should be the opposite of the fade. Durable like hell, but not that dangerous because of low speed and low damage.
If you meet an onos as marine, it should not be a death sentence. (Like it was a few builds ago.) You should have the option to flee. So the onos has to be slower than a sprinting marine. But when this onos comes into your base, everyone has to shoot him.
I think the planned introduction of a working bone shield is really needed. A crouching onos should only take 20% damage at the front. But in any case, the onos should do less damage and have more health. Make him just a real tank.

10000 APM. That's the only thing stopping public players from beating korean starcraft 2 master.
The coordination required is unreasonable at the moment, almost to the point where the attack needs to be choreographed before hand.

I love how idiotic this is.
What primal scream on an Onos is going to come down to is: "Who's saving up 75 res for an onos so they can primal scream outside of the marine base while everyone else finishes the game."

Word. Just make Onos a tank, and he's what everyone really expects him to be. A big, BIG meat shield.
Altho I think Onos has improved alot lately, the charge cooldown isn't nearly as bad as it was a patch or two ago, you can actually travel pretty damn fast with it.

Is it still the case that Exo's can't use PG's?
