Flamethrower Burns Lerk Gas

An idea for a new use of the flamethrower was to give it the ability to burn lerk gas. In my opinion it would make a nice counter to all the lerk spore spam that seems to be going on. I am not sure how difficult it would be to implement into game but i thought it sounded like a cool suggestion. =)

If you think about it for two seconds, you'd realize a dude with a flame thrower is going to basically toast all his buddies just to remove the gas around them.

But there's no friendly fire. I suppose it depends on whether the gas combusts as a whole or just evaporates where it's hit by the flamer.
In any case, I do think its a good idea to have it counter lerk gas. This, even through a lerk doesnt want to fly near a flamer anyhow, seeing as they tend to get set on fire and burn to death :p
If the spores are trailing(having enough adrenaline, and holding mouse2), I think it should all burn!
Release mouse2 to prevent the fire catching up to your lerk!
it's not too tricky, i just gave it a shot after reading this thread, works quite nice actually and i did not even need to add any hitboxes to spores.
I've been watching a lot of Competitive Matches lately and the FT is rarely used which is surprising because it is an excellent 'support weapon'. Giving it additional functions like burning fart gas will help justify it's excessive cost.

I think this is an excellent idea: now we have a way to kill lerk gas, can we please also have a way of killing the invincible lerks?
i made an effect for it, cory likes it, and it works 'acceptable'. so chances are high :)
The efect is very well done and looks queiet ok.

I had the same idea some time ago, lovin' it!
Or we could not give all marines the instant ability to completely ignore the effects of an opponent's risky attack run, and could instead develop the skill to dodge out of the gas like you already can.
I support it, but in limited strength; one of the reasons Spore can do all the things it does is because it's risky to lay down. I think you should be able to gas a doorway without entering it, but that's about as far as it should go.
