Considering the the Pres issues (mostly alien, some marine) people are talking about lately, NV or thermals could be a Pres sink. So long as it it well balanced and not unfair. Don't want to fully eliminate an aliens ability to hide in the shadows.
I'm sure I sound like a broken record with this, but I dislike things that make Marines & aliens even more similar. I.e. NV for marines, or recycling for aliens.
I would rather something unique get implemented for marines than an alien feature gets transferred over.
If you look at the old NS1 models and cinematic intro, the helmet/visor the marines wear has a laser on it. I always thought this was a weird place to put a laser, but I was thinking, it would be cool if the laser tracked anything that was moving in front of the marine.
So you're moving through a dark room, laser pointing dead ahead, suddenly it starts moving around but you can't see anything, so you just shoot wherever its pointing.
Not a real suggestion, just something I thought would be cool and fit in with the marine gear.

Why not imagining it....you can do everything then.
So @salor: Aliens have an unexpected technology for dazzling marine's nightvision. That's why marines have the vision on their head, but not before their eyes (that's also the reason they have to roll back the eyes while welding - the headgear is just broken). That's why they have to get those old flashlights out of the deepest storage-boxes. Cool?
I would support marine nightvision as a pres-purchasable flashlight replacement, that distorts vision with some static (due to nanogridlock of course), and is blinded by other marine's flashlights. Basically a situational tool that's helpful when used properly, but not better than alien vision and not a must have.

Too bad they can't anyway since marine minimap just spots aliens anywhere

Im just saying...with all this technology, the best we can look forward to, in terms of "<b>enhanced vision</b>"...is a flashlight???, im not saying it necessarily has to be some fancy heat-detection goggles, im just saying that i would have expected these guys to have a "<b>better</b>" version of the flash light or something....
Well I think we've reached the pinnacle of flash light technology. You can only make a light so bright before it becomes blinding and therefore useless to the point of being dangerous. That said, the range on the flash lights we do have is ridiculously short as well as the stupid atmospheric effect getting in the way.

And the flashlight works pretty well however.

The flashlight works but only to an extent. With the atmospherics it's often bothersome.
Not to mention the fact that some players simply will not turn theirs off.
