whatever map you do next, i hope you can use some of the architecture from ns2_noname. i love most of the screen shots, and also please don't change that curvy style :)

Maybe you can still salvage what you have by having both aliens and marines spawn at the centre of the map but with a wall dividing them, so that they expand along the circumference of the map and conflict occurs where they meet. With both spawns at the centre of the map it means that everything else is equidistant and shorter to get to.
Here is my suggestion, the red dots are tech points.

Then just move the spawn starts further apart. It's no big deal as we're only dealing with one room, and there is plenty of empty space in the middle to create a bigger divide.

Hey Remedy, if you decide to work on another map, can I suggest that you don't create such a symmetrical map in future. I know that some people might like them, but I have a slight dyslexia that makes navigating symmetrical spaces a real ######, I will get totally spun around!
I'm glad you're thinking of reusing the geometry you've already created. Those are some neat spaces. Keep up the awesome job!

Thats really interesting from a mapper's perspective, monkey. Could you say a little bit more on that?

My dyslexia is more to do with reading maps and physical space. While I consider myself pretty good at reading maps and using landmarks to orient myself - Unless I have a compass, I often get lost in cities based on a grid system, because every junction 'feels' the same to me, and after a while I'll just walk back and forth along the same street. I grew up in London, UK, where most of the streets are curved and winding - I can go to a completely new area where I've never been before and build up a detailed mental model of the area in just one visit - for some reason, I've never been able to do this with areas built on a symmetrical grid. Although, if I'm tired and it is night time, I can still get easily lost and confused, even in an area that I know quite well.
There are many benefits to having dyslexia spatial awareness http://dyslexiavictoria.wordpress.com/2010...tial-awareness/ but still many dyslexics can get confused while driving around! I honestly have no idea how it works, but I imagine it has something to do with how spaces need to be sequenced in the dyslexic brain?

Now Remedy. That is something special. Keeping it true to the original and inventing a nice self-style. I like that a lot more than an infested prop version :)
However, I hope it's an eclipse-like remake and not just put in your map :)

Not possible with the siege cannons
Then just move the spawn starts further apart. It's no big deal as we're only dealing with one room, and there is plenty of empty space in the middle to create a bigger divide.
You'd also find ARCs would be needed for every single stuck point.

Bingo, we have a winner! ;-)
also great use of atmospheric
I still think most people overdo it a lot with the atmospherics. Even if I had a computer able to handle it, I would probably still turn it off, since it can be very distracting and seems to take a lot off the light spectrum by making everything some sort of gray.
Other than that, looks great. :) Very clean look.
