In NS1 everyone would shotgun rush with such rule. It's definitely an option, but I don't think it encourages good play or rewards the better team. Notably it also rewards prolonging the round, so for example marine turtling can increase. If you want to showcase good play, consider picking some other rule.
Maybe have extra round with the time rule in place. At that point teams at least can play some good rounds and then play one where both teams are aware of the rule and play accordingly rather than fearing cheesy rushes each and every round. The prolonging issue still stays though.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd--> If NS2 were finished and balanced, I'd agree. However, as a practical matter, I see this as the only way to finish the tourney in a reasonable amount of time. I know that encourages rush tactics, but I don't think they will be that common. If everyone knows the rules favor rush tactics, they'll also be prepared for rush tactics, cutting down the chances that they will be successful.

Also, one other question related to this rule <!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->The use of both client side and server side mods (to game Lua code or otherwise) is expressly forbidden in tournament matches. Any team found to be using mods will be immediately disqualified from this Tournament.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd--> Does this mean that tournament servers can't run GmOvrmind? While I agree with the sentiment of the rule, I think we should make an exception for certain mods (like admin mods). Maybe we should have all the team captains and Hugh vote on which client/server-side mods are acceptable? Here's a list of mods from the modding section that we should clarify:

Added all players looking for teams to the front page. Added TOG and RG to the team list. This brings us to a total of 11 teams, only 5 more tournament slots!
Very good point about r_mode unlit and govermind. I will amend the google doc later today.
I'd love to join, but I want to improve my skills first, as for commentating the match, Kouji San gets my vote. After all, its not a Command Center, you silly woman!
The Tournament is a great idea, but a bit too early if you ask me...
Atm there is nearly 0 tactical choice (and a lot other gameplay problems like a pretty crappy lerk..), performance is a big issue... (a better pc greatly helps) and a few possible unfair modifications that cant be restricted yet. (at least i guess you could remove some particle effects, change sounds and model textures no shadows etc)
Contribution of money to the prize pool is voluntary Koruyo, and I for one am willing to put in a little bit of cash to encourage a nascent competitive / spectator scene. I completely understand that not everyone is.
Now - there's more than a team's worth of lone wolves in the OP now, if you guys are willing to team up we could get to 12 teams!
Prefered in a german speaking setup/but as you can see i speak/understand english too...
If there are no german or eu clans recruiting to either paticipate in this tournament and/or willing to build a 2nd team, I volunteer to organize a random group. (so EU lone wolfs contact me via pm)

Now, im thinking that having random people get together to form a team, will be a bit slow to combine, i do have one person who wants to be in a group with me, but obviously 2 isent enough, so ill need to know what the idea behind people grouping up is also, if i were to name a team, i think the name would be too obvious

Couldn't a client just write a similar script to force r_mode unlit on every 4 seconds? UWE really needs to make those commands cheats so they can't be used in normal games.
