Good Game

<div class="IPBDescription">UWE Appreciation Station</div>Hey all, finally got round to signing up on the forums.

Just finished an excellent game of NS2 on the Aus Pure servers... the game played and felt smooth (server and client around 25-30 ticks for over an hour). Balence wasn't perfect but none-the-less both Marines and Aliens were fighting hard all game, aliens lost about ten hives and marines had to relocate their main base twice to stay alive. Both sides were constantly low on resources but never felt resource starved until near the end when were down to a single RT (Marines had heliport, Aliens in surface access with neither able to consistently hold more territory).

I believe every single person in the 18 slot server 'gg'd at the end of the round, the text almost filling my entire 800x600 screen res :P
Thought to take a screen shot and post on forums just as as half finished fading off, I was blown away as it was the first time in 10 years of online gaming I had seen a full server of people gg with not a single rage quit or complaint.

<div align='center'>Thanks UWE for a fantastic game! Keep up the good work.</div>

Welcome, I bet that was a long game! Hopefully "epic" games will shorten to about 30-45mins once the full tech trees are in, as players start getting exhausted or have to leave after that amount of time.

Without a doubt this is shaping up to be an excellent game :)

heh, the game is always improving, but currently I see a LOT of ragequitting due to imbalances or long statemates. But it is shaping up to be a good game for sure. Can't wait for all the missing goodies to go in.

Thanks Nemausus! We still have a lot to improve with NS2, but we're getting there! Glad you're enjoying the beta process, even with issues.

The social aspects of the ready room are quite intentional. I hope we can add some other stuff in there too, like a scoreboard and awards computer display that everyone can huddle around and view and chat about.

That would be AWESOME. Showing the stats in-game in the RR on a terminal is a great idea!

yeh this game was epic, towards the end i was perched up on top of the armory endlessly lopping grenades at the swarms of aliens coming in , i felt like a sentry turret on steroids,

who was commanding for marines? i remember they were doing really well

So it was you playing NS2 all along! I thought there was an imposter "kamakazi".

The Marines were launching such orchestrated attacks, the Kharaas had to raced around Summit to defend and counter attack even until the end. Someone on the Kharaa team insisted on doing kamikaze attacks on the CS in Heliport, and the persistent Gorges prevailed!

It was a pity NS2HD couldn't cast the game!

    PS. Nerf grenades!

I've always enjoyed the ready room concept in the NS series. Some of the more memorable experiences from when I first got into NS was somebody setting off fireworks (mod) in the ready room after an epic game and everybody celebrating. Don't really see a lot of that fun social stuff in other games. Not to mention the secret rooms mappers worked into a number of ready rooms in the original game.

Also, alltalk coming on when the game ends and during warmup time is also a nice touch.
