A dead chip is a warranty issue. A chip that intermittently decides to ###### up your data and BSOD your system is a gigantic turd under your doormat.

Mine was easy to spot as it was giving a blue screen with a message that hinted towards memory chips after a minute of googling, and running memtest for 3 minutes netted about 40k errors.

So not dead on arrival per se, but broken on arrival. I returned the Corsair ram chips under a week after I got my latest rig. Got new ones a week later.

A week from there and my computer just wouldn't start anymore. I figured it was the Corsair PSU because some lights were turning on but there wasn't enough juice to start the whole thing. Also it was making and awful high pitched noise the two weeks I had it. Measured it at the shop I bought it from and the voltage output of the 3,3V line had dropped to 2,6V.

Nice System.

If i were you i would get a HD6950 (a tripple fan edition) and flash it to a 6970.

And for a Motherboard the P8P67 Evo
http://www.ebuyer.com/search?q=P8p67+evo&x=91&y=16

Get a faster 8gb Ram set instead of 16. (maybe even low voltage ram for cl4-4-4-12)

And like mentioned a SSD ain't a bad idea!

Since we are talking about new computers, I recently was able to build one myself.

Intel i5 2500K (stock clock)
Zalman cooler
Corsair 850W PSU
8GB DDR3 1600 RAM
3 TB Seagate 7200.1? drives
1 128GB OCZ SSD
and Sapphire 6870 Card
