<div class="IPBDescription">Towers under elevators :(</div> Has Flayra mentioned whether or not the 'stacking towers under elevators to block the elevators' thing will be fixed in 1.04?
Not when some idiot teammate blocks an elevator and forces me to run around the map as a fade, going the VERY LONG WAY around to get to the top of that elevator shaft.

AFAIK, most of the elevators in NS have corresponding ladders, so its usually not a problem. Other than making sure the elevator you choose to build under has a ladder, I don't see any problem at all with this tactic.
Or skulk your way to near where you want to go, then go fade.
I often block the elevators to slow the marine's advance. I hope this isn't taken out, it will make the aliens' life much more miserable. <!--emo&::gorge::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/pudgy.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='pudgy.gif'><!--endemo-->

my favorite thing to see is a COMPLETELY BLOCKED OFF RESOURCE NODE, because some gorge thought that 3 offense chambers would look better than a resource node at the spot.. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
The current and only fix would be to play with non-idiot players.

There was a guy named "NSPIayer" on my server and after being repeatedly banned he still comes back as a marine and causes as much trouble as possible. I finally just banned his IP and I haven't seen him since, thank god. Heh.
So you can slowly (or fastly) kill them and get on your way. This will still slow any advance of marines but make it less annoying for other aliens and easy to get around.

I think it should block the elevators, BUT if the commander forces the elevator down (He can do that, you know <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->), it'll go into 'safety override' mode and smash anything in the way.
Emergency override is a bit overboard. I think it's very realistic for the Kheraa to gum up the works, it's their version of vent welding imo.
Except in a couple cases phases and movement chambers can allow access to most of the map regardless of what lifts are blocked. I think that blocked lifts are much more of a bother to marines than to aliens at any rate.
For marines, siege and grenades can fix this in most cases. Ladders help too, if they're available, but not all lifts have ladders.. and not all places can be accessed without going up a lift or up a lift shaft. If the lift blocks the entire shaft, aliens can't skulk-climb or blink past it.
I played a game where it did a lot more damage to aliens than the marines.. It really slowed us down when half our team went to fades. :/
What Torak said. It's really no issue for marines, because it both give you time to set up that turret factory and siege (because it tends to block off the aliens too), and once you do the towers are toast.
Nothing is the big problem map for this, so damn annoying when some gorge blocks up all the lifts as marines hvae to spend 75 res on opening them up, basically makes it impossible for them to 'sneak' a HA/HMG/GL team out to siege a hive. *sigh*

I guess our server's in the minority in thinking that tower stacking is bad, eh B? <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
