The problem was, that many of our answers ended up being quite a bit longer then a minute, and the whole video was just far too long in the full length format, so we've decided to split the whole recording session up into a bunch of smaller videos. So, some will be short, some will be longer then a minute, and there will be many more questions answered over the course of releasing all of them.
I guess most people would sit throug 30 mins of Q&A, but imho they shouldn't throw it all out there at once. This way we have something to listen to every day, which is way better :).

Squad bonuses are always nice. Maybe have motion tracking in for squadmates if a squadmember saw an alien move. That's going with the limited range squad system ns2 has currently.
Also if you answer any of mine, please pronounce my name like (eye-ept bear-uh-cat) I still wonder why I use this weird name. :V
You guys should do something like put an NS2 logo behind the guy being interviewed (as u see at press conferences) to promote the game more, and so its not just a guy in an empty space. Can I also suggest not having bright sunlight light up the guy's ears XD

mfw the video was only 1 min long...
I know you wanna keep it simple, but there is one little easy and cheap thing i want to suggest.
- Change your lights/position. Use the sunlight to lighten up one half, then use a white reflector(bigger = better) from the other side to lighten up the shadows. (white cardboard)
[Found a video that kinda shows what i mean (1 light with softbox instead of the sun) http://www.graspr.com/videos/Tutorial-on-F...ight-can-make-1(skip to 1:40 then to 2:30)] (You could also try to tape a thin white cloth blanket on the window, maybe it softens the sunlight a bit, or try a different time of the day => not so bright + strong shadows)
(Tripod, HD Cam,...etc. bla bla... would be helpfull too, but this doesnt have a near as big impact on the videos as the light (+ it cost money,... white cardboard shouldnt be that hard to find for free))

I'd rather see a mix up of Q&A/patch info/other NS2 background stuff once a week than a question or two everyday. Just a short video every week or so, nothing fancy.
Example:
"This next patch will be big, here's what we're hoping to get into it" "A few questions from the Q&A answered" "Check out the cubicles and here's Linda from Human Resources"
I have to agree, just stick a couple answers together and give us a nice bite-sized chunk. 3-5 minutes would be acceptable if you want to keep it short, though I'd happily digest a 10-minute video on only Q&A.
Format is done well, and like someone said, it really feels like Charlie is sitting down and talking with the person asking the question. It'd be great to see this sort of thing regularly.
Regarding the actual topic on squads, one of the things I've noticed is how easy it is to get detached from your squad. While you can quickly "rejoin" by moving closer, I don't like how a player might keep skipping in and out of the squad on accident, and say, miss an order from the comm, who just clicked the "red squad" button. Right now it feels like you could be in one room with your squad, legitimately space out in a skirmish, and get separated from the squad. Or one guy does a double take at a vent, to check if he saw movement - boom, out of squad.
I'd like to see a longer "grace period" before the game removes you from a squad. At least this way you can have a moment to catch back up. Just a few seconds without a squad might not seem like much, but if UWE includes an armor bonus, and that lone guy gets hit, he's gonna get penalized for no good reason. Even a lag spike of one second could remove you from a squad. It can be just as frustrating for the commander who keeps missing one marine from the group he wants.
Would also like a way to keep squads separate should they have to converge on one area. At the moment it seems like they'd all get merged and annoying to separate.
I support this idea. It's great to see/heard you guys talking to us. Will you have an official place to draw questions from? Like the original thread or will you pick out say like the hot thread of the day?
I'd like to see a video talking about the roles of the remaining alien structures (shade and shift?) and the new alien upgrade system in general.
That was painfully short. I appreciate the effort and what your trying to do with these videos, but something as short as 1 minute, is near useless. It leaves me with more questions then answers and its not really a teaser but just a horrible carrot on a stick that pisses me off.
Its good theyre thinking of ways to encourage squad formation and teamwork. Armour buff sounds a bit odd to me - why would a marine have more armour merely by standing near other marines. I'd prefer things like visual clues which highlight your squadmates on the UI not just minimap.

I really like this idea. It feels as if the developers are connecting with the community. Also, it answers burning questions that the community has and alleviating a lot of the frustration people get from not understanding design decisions.

I guess all the videos and twitters mean that you got yourself the PR guy you were looking for ?
only few tips:
1.pick few questions
2.make the video longer than 1min :P
my guess its only the first video so you trying to get to see the feedback, well trust me we all want this. :D
UWE answers: "dunno lol"

Armor buff for squads sounded pretty neat actually.

I should have used something like Gorge Foreman.
Keep it up, gents. :)

Looking forward to some longer Q&As.

i like the idea of having a 1-5 minute video each day, very cool

etc etc...

after all more eyes and ears give earlier warning / detection.
maybe a mini radar / motion tracking of where ever squad members looking , like shared view,
will encourage squad memebers to look more directions.
This is a very welcome behind the scenes look.
Answers to big questions like for example:
Do UWE guys keep a real gorge in a secret room in their office?
Are they creating just a sequel to a HL1 mod or a sort of matrix?
Are they working on a parallel project to NS2 which is identified with the codename NS3?
STAY TUNED...
