I ordered it but am not receiving the email. (waited ~30 minutes now)
Is it a problem if I ordered it with the same paypal account that I used for the alpha order? (email is the same as the one registered to this forum profile)
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->160 still has no minimap but yay fixed one for alien-/marinecommander. <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bex6JOu-URc" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bex6JOu-URc</a> oh and a placeholder dynamic infestation (mainhive) and macbot has blue flames. but seriously sentry guns are to strong in the video. i hope they increase the hydras reaction and damage then too!<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Sentry guns are too strong? It required 8 (or more) to hold off near the hive. If things are really being balanced on damage alone, we are going to have some really long and tiresome games. To me the video seemed a bit fascicle.. if any fade had gone east, he could have gotten into marine start and begun taking it down. Forcing all marines back to defend that area.
It would have gone on for longer than 37 minutes... and from what NS2HD said, I don't agree. In fact it would be worse on larger maps like Tram, because marines have further to run to get to places. Leaving them even more vulnerable.
Marines always end up spreading themselves too far out through the map, and because the aliens 'most important asset' is SPEED and AGILITY. It is far too easy for them to hit marines in undefended areas. The marines asset should be HIGH POSITIVE, HIGH NEGATIVE.
Sentries should be vulnerable from the rear, but very powerful from the front. Same for flame thrower. Slow turn whilst firing, vulnerable from melee attack if they get in range, or attack from the rear. Friendly fire, burns player when fired too close. Designed for structure clearing, requiring support from the likes of shotgun/lmg.
Seriously, the marine style of play needs to be so much more defined. They should have less map control, but more control over that area than aliens have over the entirety of the map.
A good example of this dynamic are power nodes. When they get shut down, something 'actually' changes in the game. It is like sieges as well. Once implemented they will move the game forward.
For me the Grenade Launcher, Flame Thrower and Sentry feel like they have no real purpose in this game at the moment. If things are being spammed, it is because they are not doing a job well. They are not defined enough in what they do.
Aliens and marines should feel completely different in how they play, and currently the alien team feels great. But the marines just feel like they have been balanced to meet head on and keep clashing heads with one another for 40mins+.
Making aliens all about:
# Agility # Speed # Map Control / spam (it will also make for more atmosphere and feel of infestation) # Stealth # Ambush
Make marines all about:
# Forcing routes # High positive, high negative # Weak in ambush # Defined by weapon choice (and job) # More efficient, less spam
There is more than damage that can be used as balance, but also makes for exciting dynamics. Define a marine by his weapon choice, like the aliens are defined by their class.
Great news! I have bought the game not so long ago, so i COULD HAVE waited and buy it with a friend (and save some money T_T), but tbh, i think when i will be finally able to play that game smoothly (i would also play with its current imbalance issues), every cent i paid was worth. Anyway nice action, will try to get some friends into this game for sure.

You guys need money, so I understand this, also, I guess it will help the community grow. I just hope other's can find this understanding, otherwise, many will be upset.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
So far only you seem to be upset, but there's no reason you should expect anyone else to be. Consumers understand the meaning of sales. No one here was robbed by pre-ordering before the BOGO.
I think it's a great deal and am contemplating picking up a sale copy, even though I already have two SE copies :P

great idea :) i already got a Special edition and 2 standard ones.. but getting one more to actually get 2.. sounds like an idea :) i just need enough people i can gift it too ;)
By the way, 160 quite possibly will not be available until after the sales. This is a complete guess, but at the moment download speeds are awful. They are probably limiting downloads to commercial games that are making money for them right now.

Deagle2, where are u from? Perhaps stating which country you're in would get you more results?
Also, u dont really need to have paypal, if u have a credit card or debit card, that works too...
I'm from belgium, but I'm not sure why it would help? It's just getting the game with me and I'll send Half of the money (17.50$) to your bank account, I turned 18 recently, so I don't have credit card and anyway, I wouldn't know what to do with that second copy of the game. (my friends are not realy into gamming, especially a game in english)

Edit: My emails were pretty much instant.
An awesome deal, just in time for the holidays!
