I'm not sure what the "played since" has anything to do with the point of this thread, as long as the person is playing the game now or intends to play the game. If not, they're probably not going to post their region. So it's kind of unnecessary information.
For fun, I made this <a href="http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF&msa=0&msid=115260840413304968743.0004962b9fd30d33b0f9f" target="_blank">map</a>. I tried to represent the data best as possible. It seems a different method is in order, but I'll do that later.
I've been trying to spread the word about this game on some forums (told all of my friends to buy it, too) hoping for people to get interested. Hopefully NS2 can get a large-ish community without advertising.
I played NS 1 a lot, since 1.4 through 3.2 if I remenber correctly.. I even took part in one ENSL back in the day :P There are a few of us in Iceland that are playing NS 2 actually :)

NS1 gained huge popularity and much more attention when CO maps came out. But IMO, CO maps killed the point of the NS games where teamwork matters more than frags...
So I hope NS2 doesnt get a "CO" mode ever. If frags are more important to you (the general public), go play CS or TF2. Dont ruin NS!
I played ns1 quite excessively as part of a german clan called duster.com (name is dead, ppl still play stuff together).
Can't wait till ns2 1.0 goes live and I hope there will be at least a classic mod with ppl playing it. Too sad combat mode killed ns1 back then. I hope this won't happen to ns2 in kinda same way again :/ Teamwork, tactics, and player skill should be the key in ns, but not just plain player skill. I'd love to battle other teams with my mates in a league like <a href="http://www.esl.eu/" target="_blank">the esl</a> just like back in the good old days of ns1 :)

I am trying to let know people, here in Czech Republic, about NS2, which I discover accidentally 2 years ago.
