Donating - I would like to

Can I get a UWE/Dev response please
I put this in the other thread but it got buried:
I want to donate, as do many others. Beta is a great milestone, UWE needs some cash - has a strong community and some of those community members want to voluntarily give a bit more.
However, I'd like the best bang for my buck recognition wise. E.g. if Constellation is my best option I'll do that, but I'd like to hear from the dev team if they are planning on doing anything similar with NS2 because IF they are, I'd like to hold off and donate when that is up, rather than donating for the old system then a new one coming out the subsequent week.
I'd appreciate any kind of response on this one way or another - I'm going to donate either way I just want to know what my best option is.
Cheers,
Eldon.

Another system I saw was simply a list of people (in no particular order) who had donated - even that would be enough for me, a list of contributors buried somewhere on the web.
hey if there were credits in the game, they could put a thanks for all the donation and then the list of names that would be pretty awesome
But with only 10.000 keys, that would be a wasted key. For now at least...
+1,000,000,000
Etc...etc...
I'm am itching to do some kind of donation as well. Imo, UWE captures everything that made PC games so bloody awesome in the late 90s and very very early 00s. I want to do my best to keep that intangible fire and UWE alive. I've already purchased another 6 pre-orders (already have 2 SE) for friends Xmas presents, but I want to do more for UWE. NS2 and UWE have so much potential it's border line absurd.
To avoid all the problems with a For-Profit company accepting donations (U.S. laws, legal reasons, etc.), I suggest UWE "sell" something for a relatively small amount (start around $5 to $10) and it gives the players a simple In-game icon for their name on the scoreboards, or something along those lines. Basically, I'm suggesting UWE come up with something that won't take a lot of time away from actually working on the game, but still gives the people that "donate" that "warm and fuzzy" feeling.
I've seen a few people buy extra copies of the game following beta release
I know quite a few people bought more than one copy at the launch
No "recognition", but over and above black armor, not sure much can be done
Long story short, I just want a way to help out UWE where they need it most: Money. I don't want to spam buy a bunch of the beta keys because those could be going to New players.
Gah, I saw your nick as kawak and my head almost exploded. ns_leya | co_akaba T_T
Again.
:)
Nothing stopping anyone from buying beta keys, but I would suggest holding off a little while before giving them the key. That way, the "new" players will be more accepting of the game (i.e. more time for critical bug fixes to get implemented). That's what I'm doing anyways. *shrugs*
All purchases get a scoreboard icon (and I would carry over constellation icons too!)
Offer two options at say $10 each:
Elite Marine armour (red armour plates on shoulders / knees for marines) allowing further differentiation / uberness with black armour.
Onos elder skin (no stat difference just more badass looking)
But clarify these are community donations not traditional DLC (as people will scream about getting ripped off)
Even without recognition, just an official mechanism would be great. Not sure if original Costellation is an appropriate path, if it I'll gladly use that.
Same here guys, NS gave me the most fun ive ever had playing games and its probably my most played game of all time.
I would donate even if I dont get a thing, allthough ive posted about this in the other topic and probably got buried too, but I wouldnt mind a downloadable artbook or a LMG model signed by devs :D
Im dying to get in the game, perhaps even start leveldesigning again.. I've been lurking around the forum, wiki & stalking youtube-channels (HELLO NS2HD) daily for new material! Tho since im unemployed since a long way back, money is always an issue and i cant afford the game for a long time..
So, just saying, if you want to make UWE smile abit and make me explode in awesome extasy then please donate a key! :D
I bought 2 to support them, not sure whom i'm giving them too, probably as christmas gifts.
But i would love some kind of SE like donation where we can get something cool like black armor :)
Allso buying the game for people will only make it cheaper in their eyes, they might play it once or twice and then move on where if they buy it they will try to get every minute's worth out of it and allso getting their friends to buy the game to play with them.
So id rather donate.
Drag the constellation / icon system over to NS2 and let the donations flow in. The game already uses Steam, doesn't seem like that much trouble.
Plus the existing const. members will be made happy.
That's what I did, I also grabbed a dedicated server to host from until I can get a GSP to do it for me.
I'll um +15 this idea or whatever the count is up to now.
EDIT: In regards to this point

I'd suggest not buying it for 'people' or 'players' or 'someone else' and grab a copy for a friend that's into RTS and FPS games a bit or has heard of Natural Selection or dabbled around in Source Mods, you might find better results and another person to play with.
