I'm kinda curious if we can't have some kind of modifier to determine whether or not your post-blink orientation should be facing a marine or facing the direction you're blinking. I can't really think of a good way to implement it but sometimes I'd rather run past a marine than go in for the kill.

We have bigger things to sort out at the moment, however.
So who else thinks it would be cool to have 2 blink options to choose from when evolving into a fade? One is the original speedy blink in NS1 and the new NS2 teleport blink. I think it would be neat :\

It was basically broken. If you aimed 0.1 degrees down from the horizontal you wouldn't go anywere because the ray collision test was in the standing fade/standing marine/crouching onos hull. You had to jump and aim slightly down, or aim at the ceiling or far wall. You didn't end up where you aimed because the ray test was not in the point collusion hull(hull 0?). Brush based ents were a lethal hazzard that you would get stuck in permanently if you blinked to them.
I just wanted to chime in and say the fade blinking looks absolutely badass. I didn't get a chance to try it out myself, I was lerking and harassing marine start with spore in tram having a total blast. One of my teammates blinked in as a fade and just watching him duke it out with the other team was incredible. The effects are spot on, and not over the top at all. I'm very impressed.
I don't know why everyone doesn't like the model, I think it looks good, like some crazy creature. The teleporting feels a little clumsy, but that might just be the server and mouse lag.
A good fade is going to be terrifying, more so than they were in NS1. This new blink is just going to be brutal in the hands of a good player. I haven't gotten a good look at the model, but I do think it should be a bit darker. It has white armor patches, yeah? Not really fade-ish!

Roger!
Presssing 'b' to evolve only gives me the option to be skulk or gorge. And the res towers dont collect res for some reason...

Somebody should photoshop some old man pants on him.
His head armor also makes <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5wz8bNXGfoM" target="_blank">grenades bounce off</a>.
