I got stuck in the floor quite often while teleporting around as a fade, though I didn't think to check if it was just in that small area I messed around with it in. Thankfully you can just teleport right out now.
I spawned in a wall a few times as an alien, gestating to another lifeform didnt pop me out :(
Has anyone noticed when you first join a game, walk in the ready room to say marine team you are teleported to somewhere outside of the level for 5-10 seconds? You can see through all the walls and stuff, untill finally you are spawned?
Also has anyone noticed if your dead and following someone in third person mode, you get 'pushed around' by other dead spectators that are following the same person?
This is a huge improvement. I have now changed from my tiny windowed mode to almost full screen windowed 1440x900 with a Geforce 8800GT (can't go full because lack of noborder windowed mode).
There was definately constant lag though, not fps but something else, server side?
Have any servers made the change below mentioned on twitter?

QUOTE

Server ops: the game may run smoother if you remove hive sight: change line 85 of AlienTeam.lua to "//self:UpdateHiveSight(timePassed)"

I couldn't even connect servers or LAN last night. Today I connected on LAN, played around, built stuff, upgraded stuff and all in all was happy with the improvements. FPS were up from about 20 to 23. patches of lag every so often. I re-entered the comm and the game crashed. Had to ctrl>alt>del to get out. I always run everything on high just to stress my box, and it makes problems show up better.

I've applied this to the Lunixmonster server, didn't seem to effect CPU usage in the slightest.
yimmasabi - Which OS? Price - Which setting and resolution are you running on? Drako - Fade? via Console commands?
Me, I've noticed that after one online connected game, I can't reconnect again if I disconnect, unless I restart the game.
Also a bug: When you open menu, while gestating in an egg, and you are still in the options menu, when gestation completes - you cannot close the options menu unless you restart the game (console quit)
Server randomly restarts - after a few minutes into any session (this was a 3M v 2A) - the game just restarted (on NS_Mineshaft(?)) - can't say why, but it happened about 3-4 times in 1hour.
Loading the game takes up to 5 minutes, more if high level graphics are used - and then, it chugs at about 1 frame per 10 sec! GTx260+, 4GB Ram, 1.8GHz DUO, WinXP - Running at 800x600 at medium or 1024x728(ish?) at low = 30-50 fps depending on the room and what's happening in it (full-screen).
Also, in 800x600 in windowed mode, the Server list ends off the window, instead of truncating correctly when it reaches the screen end.
*I'll put my problems into feedback too. If anyone finds these bugs too. Haven't tested Marine side yet, but noticed that a lot of people had issues with aim, probably due to fps + display settings + mouse sensitivity settings.
When joining a server, there's a lot lag at first then it seems to smooth out and seems almost playable until everything freezes and I have to ctrl/alt/del to get out. I did get a couple of pages of this:[attachment=35962:154_error.JPG]
got a good article here bout physX/AMD: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/nvidia...adeon,2764.html
Speaking of PhysX I haven't seen this mentioned here so maybe its worth it.
When Mirror's Edge came out (a game using PhysX for a much of the environment), people with ATI cards were having serious frame rate issues unless they disabled it. I'm sure much has improved in terms of compatibility but might as well be mentioned. My ATI Radeon HD 5650 however seems to play the game (NS2) fine and only has most noticeable slowdowns with shadows.
In the graphics settings might be interesting to allow people to turn off PhysX and see if that makes makes any significant difference in performance for some however I guess this depends on how much PhysX has been integrated into the client? (might have read something about it only doing server side collision...)
Mafia II had horrible performance issues with "advanced" PhysX enabled on both AMD and Nvidia cards without a secondary Nvidia card running purely physics.
What I have gathered is any game that says you will get a better gaming experience with Nvidia because of GPU accelerated physics (Batman: Arkham Asylum, GRAW 1 & 2, Metro 2033, etc) .. its usually a gimmick and doesn't change gameplay or the experience at all. Mafia II looked better without the cloth physics enabled, along with having random bits of debris that look out of place all of the time(same with GRAW).
PhysX is fine when it's not a marketing gimmick and actually does what other physic libraries have been able to do without stealing 40% of your FPS.
You can gestate into the fade without console command. He just simply has no model so you're invisible. I don't recommend doing it on a server with other players, as they will get mad quickly.

can anyone actually play?? i tried twice (even after verifying cache integrity) and cant join ANY server and cant start a LAN game? same connection errors keep popping up. "cant establish connection" etc..
*update* Nevermind. finally found a server with no one in it. VERY smooth gameplay (some screen tearing but i'll force vsync next time) no noticeable hitching great fps (slight drop around the hive) awesome hit registration too!
nice job guys. i can now notice small bugs like when you "fake out" a sprint as a marine meaning quickly press and release, the pistol running animation still plays for about three seconds etc.
if they fix their server CPU load issues and player limit stuff etc this actually COULD be a beta soon enough. cheers to the most playable build yet. :)

It is a pain in the arse end at the moment. Sometimes you can be having a really good successful game as marines, then someone evolves to fade and destroys your base and you can't do anything.
The only solution I found was to research flame throwers asap and get the flame on. It is quite amusing seeing a ball of flames running around your base and then running away very quickly. xD

::Facepalm:: you just gave exploiters / grief givers a great idea.... sigh.
p.s. anyone else notice the HUGE ingame GUI? had to check my res to be sure it didnt reset. its as if the gui defaults to a size that would be appropriate proportions for a 1024 x 768 res??

Yes. I just said that.

After switching down from 1024 to anything lower, such as 800x600 - the proportions don't update.
And if you are playing locally, first: cheats 1 That start the game playing you alone, and you can use some cheat codes to spawn weapons, structures, etc.-

PhysX =/= PhysX
PS: There is no ATI anymore. Its now AMD Radeon.
