Skulks Were Nerfed Unintentionaly With Carapacebug

The developers tried to make fades weaker but they made the starting game easier for marines due to carapace being just about useless on skulks.

no trolls post please if you are going to say anything like
1. you are just bad
2. skulks are supposed to be weak
3. it doesn't make a difference (LOL)

i am one of the best skulkers ever

skulks are NOT supposed die from 1.2 seconds of lmg firing thats not even close to reasonable. WEAK? weak even at close range? wtf? It's obvious that the morons that don't like this idea are marine players. I play BOTH teams and I can just solo kill enemy hive with com support. if they build defense they slow down their resources and we can just build a factory outside of their hive and seige it while killing everyone at long range

    Carapace being worthless??

    What are you smoking?

    Carapace makes a huge difference... something on the order of Non-Carapace Skulks die with 9 LMG bullets, and L3 Carapace Skulks die with 19.

    Carapace is easily one of the best upgrades for any alien.

    LOL, carapace sucks now.
    1 lmg marine with no upgrades is easily better then 3 carapace skulks WITH AIM
    at any range.

    There's this pretty little "edit" button in the top right of each post. Don't post 8 times in a row.

    Skulks are meant to be fragile - learn to play more deviously. 2 bites is all it takes to kill a marine... if skulks suck so badly, why can I still take out a 4-man squad by myself?

    hmmm, maybe I don't see, but 3 sec of firing is a lot. Especially since on average (I'd guess) players have below 50% accuracy.

    Not sure about that, but when I am skulk with carapce i do seem to survive past the marines initial clip.

    Pre-1.04? Uhh... the latest release version 1.03... so uh, technically, yes, I've always played pre 1.04.

    Everyone just ignore the troll.

    Anyone who's actually played as skulk, and who actually knows what the current version of Natural Selection is can easily tell you that Carapace is totally worth the upgrade.

    Actually 19 bullets are less than 2 sec of firing.


    How do you want to know that the nerfing of skulks with fixing this bug was unintentionally? Skulks were never meant to be the tough bulletsoakers. And the fix of carapace is not the problem skulks have. The problem with skulks is that marines do not seem to have any hitboxes at their feet. Marine is standing on a ladder, you sneak under him, bite, bite bite like mad, nothing happens. Marine hops around like mad, you bite, bite bite, nothing happens. If something around skulks needs to be fixed it is not the hitpoints or armor. It is the hitboxes of marines and maybe the bite range (welder range would be nice, would fix a lot of these hitbox problems).

    It is worth the upgrade alright. I´m always asking the Gorges to make D chambers as soon as they can, because a Carapaced skulk team, really early in game, can keep a whole marine squad from expanding at all while the gorge happily whistles while the 2nd hive is going up.

    Umm 60% damage redux to 30 Armor Points is nothing to sneeze at. Carapace is one of the best upgrades in the game, too bad so many noob skulk players dont realize it, Ive heard stuff like "Fk Carapace, its all about REGEN for skulks" nevermind the fact that regen is based on total HP.... lamers

    There really isn't much difference to it since the bug fix, maybe you just need to practice your skulking a bit more, "skulkswerenerfed" :E

    excuses like these are commonly used by 13 year old ogcers in cs.
    I am probably one of the best skulks in the midwest or this country at all.

    any GOOD alien skulker knows that carapace was made WAY less effective
    please only good alien players post, no newbie marines please.

    Well, Ive been playing as alien since the game first came out and i still think you are a moron. As said before, the way carapace is now, is the way it was always meant to be.

    Any "good" skulker can easily avoid fire from marines. I'm not sure what your talking about, but i would assume that you are not yet what you claim to be. Skulking is great how it is, learn to strafe and jump and you can get past a turret farm with no damage, AND if your skulking, the idea is not to go one on one with a marine, your supposed to hide and drop on them.

    next up, skulks are not supsed to be able to take very much DMG at all

    if you charge a marine you should die (that it, it is designed that way)

    now if you manage to sneak up behind one and they turn at the last sec you should have a decent chance of living

    if you manage to get behind some one and the don't see you they should die, and you should be at full HP

    and when I say behind I also am including above/below what not just so long as you have the drop


    skulks (and lerks) are suposed to be frigile little buggers, they should relie upon leet ninja skillz (pls note the joke), not CHARGE!!! tactics

    you take one step and they know exactly where you are, lmg is more then a few thousand times more efficient then a skulk.

    ive never been sneaked up on as a marine, its more then obvious where skulks hide
    PLUS if marines jump when they get hit they get knocked back about 15 feet which gives them time to kill 3 more skulks

    now stop posting, no trolls
