Win7 compatibility

I am using windows 7 and I am having some problems. First, my brightness/gamma sliders don't do a thing...or it doesn't seem too. I have already made my cl_gammaramp 0. Also, after quit ns the game freezes and I am stuck with the background wallpaper, then i have to ctrl alt delete and end the hl.exe process to get ns to fully close.

My specs:

Win 7 Ult (32 bit)
AMD Quadcore
ATI 5770 GPU

Any help?

Freeze after quitting sometimes happens to me, too.
Dunno what happens there though.

I use this program with windows 7 to get some gamma into ns:

Just increase brightness and contrast so it fits what you were used to before win7 and bind it to a key.

Well I also have the problem of the commander UI being all black but I've been doing some plugin stuff and found that (quite by chance) blocking the env_gamma entity makes the commander UI usable (I think).
