    Black would work well for most of the NS images that come to mind. I couldn't care less about the maker of the shirt, but the following would be REALLY nice to have:

    Material: something that's not going to fall apart in 6 months.
    Print job: NOT AN IRON-ON or transfer. I have yet to see a single transfer that didn't self-destruct within a month.
    Extra LONG option - some of us abnormally tall folks would really appreciate t-shirts that don't end at the belly-button. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

    As someone whose livelihood is in mostly <a href="http://fangamer.net" target="_blank">merch</a>, here's a few tips:

    1) AA shirts are the best, but watch out for 'mega deals' your printer gives as it's usually a bad batch sold on the cheap.

    2) Gildan Ultra-Cotton is good if you really don't like AA shirts for their 'spandexy quality and fitness'. Avoid the Hanes for all but the 3X and above. (If you even offer 3X.)

    3) Our most recent shirt has <a href="http://fangamer.net/products/pork-army" target="_blank">discharge printing</a> which is very, very nice quality though slightly pricer even for just the one color. If you're planning on doing an outline, definitely look into that.

    4) Our bright colors outsell the pure black/white shirts. Our pure art outsells the textual shirts. The best reason one member gave was "I like just telling joe idiot on the subway it's cool art instead of having to explain what the game is." Depending upon the crowd, fashion conscienceness may actually be the biggest factor, even with nerdy-based shirts.

    5) Lots of people make fat internet nerd jokes, we have sold far more L and XL and barely any 2X and 3X. (Corollary: People like jackets and hoodies a size larger, so do stock up on more 2X than a t-shirt run.)

    Never, ever underestimate the power of good merch. We are by all means very, very small fry and yet we're doing pretty good for ourselves.     The kind of shirt really doesn't matter. The printing of the graphic on the shirt is. Lots of companies like to do that iron on crap that tends to fade/go to hell within a few months. =/ If it is cheap I will spend money on something like that, but I am much more willing to spend a little bit more for a shirt that doesn't fade and everyone can always enjoy the awesomeness of my NS shirt. With that said the ink screen(ing?) method is far better. I bought a shirt with this method for the custom logo and I must say 2 - 3 years later it still looks as great as the day I bought it with no cracks or fading.

    I look at an NS2 shirt in the same way I look at most shirts that you'd find at a concert: that is they are black with an image on the front and that's about it. I'm really not one about plain text and also colorful shirts are too much for me.

    A good plain ol' black shirt works in just about every situation, and for a 'test' run of t-shirts it's probably the safest bet.

    It wouldn't matter if it were just a picture of Max and Charlie smiling, I would buy it. lol Nah, I'd love a NS2 shirt, or NS2 concept art available as high quality prints. I'd probably pay big bucks for the artwork.

    Those are some good tips, hopefully Charlie will take note.

    Woot uses AA, and I only know this because I was impressed by the quality when the first Woot shirt I ordered arrived at my door.

    AA shirts also tend to be a bit longer than the norm, from what I've heard. They fit me great, and AA is the only t-shirt brand I actually know--they're just that good.

    From someone who has worked as a silk screener and have attempted at starting my own shirt company.. I would suggest you go with American Apparel.

    I know, I know, they're more expensive but the quality is WORTH IT.

    Just charge slightly higher for the shirts. At first you'd think it would be better to have cheaper shirts so more people can buy them.

    My argument though is go with the higher quality, as soon as someone buys an American Apparel NS2 shirt they'll be pleasantly surprised with the quality and WILL WEAR IT MORE OFTEN. People will naturally enjoy wearing the shirts more not just because its for NS2, but because they fit better, feel nicer, and LOOK BETTER.

    AA all the way. Doesn't matter were I live and shop, AA just kicks more ass then other brands on offer because they have the best fit. So the question on brand is basically: "Do you want it to fit nicely?".

    Can we vote over designs too? Or will you have a design competition or at least a concept competition! That would rock. More people could send in ideas that way.

    It would be interested to see what kind of t-shirt designs people are into. I'm a graphic designer but dislike most of the stuff on Threadless or any of the other "cool" t-shirt sites. It's just to nice and boring. Sorry for making you read this but I hate quotes on T's too. In short I like the graphical style of over the top rock tshirts, stupid stuff like late 80's stock car racing & wrestling tshirts. This doesn't fit to NS though. Maybe you could have the map names on the back like a tour tshirt, haha. One T for each team, and yeah.. explosions and gore!

    I made a suggestion thread along time ago suggesting T-shirts for ns, and I made something similar to this. It's kind of bad if you think about it...but it's still pretty good!

    I'd love an ns2 t-shirt, though if you guys can afford it, it would be really nice to have art that doesn't look "stuck on", so for example:

    The latter being better (obviously).

    Also the cut does matter, even though the brand doesn't. I don't know how much the "fat slimy videogamer" template applies per capita in NS but I would much rather have a shirt that is cut <b>roughly</b> like a human torso instead of having it look like a sack with some pictures on it.

    Would definitely buy, as as long as there are fitted sizes! I have a graphical tee each from Gildan and a Hanes that I do not wear because it fits like a poncho.

    Almost as important as the shirt itself... shipping shouldn't cost more that the merchandise. Seems to be the real issue here in the UK.

    NS2 Shirts would be a great idea. I'm sure you guys will come up with something awesome, even just the NS2 logo on a black t shirt would be cool. Some concept art on it would be nice, as long as you where able to make if blend on the shirt and not look like a picture slapped on top.

    About the design / colors: Summer is coming so I prefer a light color with a nifty NS2 logo on it! I do like the UnknownWorlds logo too! A t-shirt with just that logo in big would be awesome! :-)

    I would love to buy an NS2 T-Shirt, but I wouldn't buy one like that I'm afraid. It's just too much, T-Shirts need to be subtle. I really wanted a TF2 T-Shirt but I checked out the Valve store and they were just all too in your face. Keeps the colours blended to the T-Shirt so it doesn't stand out too much. Make any text on it subtle and small.

    I don't want the first thing people notice when I walk in the room to be the T-Shirt. I just want it so if I am talking to someone and they play that game too they will notice, other people won't.

    The shipping costs to the UK are a problem. There is also an Import Tax for clothes coming from the US. I bought a jumper from the US once, at £25, it ended up costing with shipping and tax around £50. If Amazon can deliver from the UK then maybe we can bypass the Tax/Shipping issue.

    Here are some more artful brands/designs...

    It would be interesting to see a full color concept piece on a large portion of a shirt... like a fade's body of the rearing head of an Onos.

    Opposite from that "artful" design, if you're going to put a a logo or the such, make it clean simple and to the point.

    Textured grey is sick. Don't have the boxy shape tshirts they are horrible (even though it probably fits half of the people I goto uni with : / ). IMO fitted/styled shirts are the way to go. And someone mentioned not the plain "ironed" on prints, they suck (in most cases), the blended artwork is much better.

    And please don't make it too 'geeky' if you get me, because I'd love to wear one but I'd like to have a subtle option.

    Personally, I would be most interested in a snug fitting (I am confident in my looks) black t-shirt, short sleeve or long sleeve (arm art on long sleeve if you do please) that has the Unknown World's logo that I see up in the top right corner of this page right now of the space marine holding a flag. I once wore something similar as my favorite t-shirt and it was the picture of a cartoony looking robot. No explanation, just thought it had a nice simple artsy look, and I know the ladies thought it looked good.

    The problem I have with any kind of T-Shirt that gets given out at Car Shows, Conventions, Gigs or sold as Merchandise is that they all are made of poor-quality Cotton, are made to fit obese americans, and logos or images are always ironed-on by someone with a negative value for their sense of aesthetics.

    No offense to Americans, but I'm a slender British guy and it seems that the smaller and thinner you are, the more money you pay because you have to go to a store like Topman to find anything that fits.

    My place of work ordered work-shirts from somewhere in America, the 'x-small' was a frickin' tent on me. and the xx-large would easily fit a Hmmvee inside it!!

    I'd love to wear an NS2 shirt, but I am 100% confident in saying that it'll be too big, too wide and too cheaply made for me <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />

    I don't mind about the brand, but it has to got a minimum quality level. I'd like them to last forever, even washing them 3000 times in the washing mashine. I don't mind paying 5 more bucks if the print is better than a regular one.

    I agree with ChromeAngel here on the shipping, I bought plenty of merch from the cafepress store a couple years back and the postage was pretty much equal to the basket cost.
